I love Lauryn!
Wow six children, congrats!

Really? on

this is such a racist site. Lauryn Hill is pregnant, doesn’t that deserve a big post like every other celebrity not just a link to another site?

Mary on

Look over to the right and you will clearly see other races “Really,” this site is far from racist.

@ Really?: They just had a post about Garcelle Beauvais; they are constantly posting things about Nahla Aubry and the Klum-Samuel clan. Constance Marie’s blog is linked off to the side; as is Laila Ali’s and Layla Kayleigh’s – all of whom are minorities.

Most likely the story came in late and this baby page isn’t the priority. Or, as with other stories, they’ll come out with it tomorrow to keep site traffic up. Or it could be that since Lauryn Hill isn’t the most forthcoming with the press they linked to another site b/c they aren’t going to get any new news…

Calm down, sister.

I don’t think of this site as raciest, but I do wonder why Lauryn Hill didn’t get a normal post about this pregnancy. If reality stars, who do nothing to become famous get a full sized post, than a wonderful and highly talented artist like Lauryn Hill deserves the same treatment.

I feel like this is poor oversight on the part of this website, and they should make this announcement into a real post!

Or they just weren’t able to get their own confirmation, but want to make sure CBB readers see the news. Doubt there’s any malicious motives. And calling the site racist is just laughable when there’s a black family featured a few posts down, and a gay family featured a few posts down from there, nevermind the many Latinas on the sidebar. Come on now, let’s not pull the race card.

Maggie is probably right. This site is owned by People and I believe they usually get the confirmation to post stuff before they do. Lauryn Hill’s pregnancy news is linked to MTV.com. I highly doubt it’s a race issue, this website has never seemed discriminatory to me.

Are you really calling the site racist when wasn’t it Lauren that said “I hate white people” a few years ago? Now thats racist, but oh wait its ok if she does it.

Right, so featuring one black family a few posts down eliminates any possibility of racism? uh, not quite. And if someone has a valid issue with underrepresentation of POC on this site, please refrain from throwing out the “race card” just because you do not agree with what they have to say. For some of us, it is a lot more than a card.

Lauryn Hill is pretty off the map these days. Also, sometimes People makes very weird decisions. Usually Gwyneth Paltrow gets her own post but, a few days ago she was in the “around the web” column with a pic of Apple and Moses, two RARELY spotted celeb babies.

Melissa, I’m not sure if that’s true: http://www.snopes.com/quotes/lauryn.asp
