Stella Industries: Chic Mini Fashions for Girls

Courtesy Stella Industries

Ever wonder where some of Hollywood’s pint-size fashion darlings like Suri Cruise and Nahla Aubry get their adorable duds? Then, check out children’s clothing line Stella Industries. Founded by L.A-based designer Ary Park in 2003, it features mini flowing dress, colorful striped tops and cool denim pieces that your little one will love.

“When I got pregnant I thought, I just want to be a mom and spend time with my kid. Then I had a girl and I was so inspired. I was constantly making stuff for her,” shared Park, who spent years in the showbiz world as a producer for Saturday Night Live and various television networks before starting her line.

Lucky for her and you, her fashions caught on with regular and celeb moms, alike. Suri and Nahla both have the Starlet dress ($85). Other standouts include the Sienna Tunic ($42.50) and the Denim Cuff Jeans ($33).

And despite how fancy each piece looks, the collection, which runs from size 1 to 16, is really easy to wear and care for. “I like having thoughtful details but a lot of children’s clothing are mini versions of grown-up clothes with lots of buttons, fasteners and zippers,” says Park. “Also, a lot are dry clean only. That doesn’t work for everyday moms like me.”

And the styles are always kid-friendly because Park’s 10-year-old daughter continues to be her source of inspiration. “She’s my number one muse, helper and chief critic. She’s also a fan.”

Shop the line at stellaindustries.com. Added bonus: They’re offering Moms & Babies readers a special discount. When you enter code: Peop11 at checkout, you’ll receive 20 percent off your order until June 1.

Who, besides the celebs in this blog, actually pays $70 AFTER DISCOUNT for a child’s silk dress that can be worn for 1 season?

Super cute dress but way out of my budget. Would love the pink one for my daughter though.

Love the dresses. Although the prices are not ridiculous, they are still more than I would spend on a little girls dress.

Those are darling dresses! Slash it 60% though, for me to buy.

I can’t believe they are charging this much for something you could find on etsy.com for 5 dollars. V poor quality.

oh my goodness those dresses are adorable. a little pricey i agree but then then it is a designer label, hardly a surprise.

Those dresses are so cute. Nice and bright and very appropriate for little girls.

Everything I’ve every gotten from Stella Industries is STELLAR in quality and design! I’ve given Stella Industries dresses to all the little girls in my life and they all love them to the point of obsession!! You can’t find anything like this on Etsy and I think if you are going to post negative comments you shouldn’t leave them anonymously – that’s mean spirited and what you say is untruthful anyway!

My nieces love them and once one outgrows an outfit – off it goes to the littler cousin – the quality is great – they last with colors intact through two and three hand me downs…so for me to gift – it’s like the gift that keeps on giving. Very worth the price/quality ratio!

I have gotten several dresses, tops and skirts for my granddaughter. All little girl appropriate, with great fashion flair. I think the cost is very much in line with the product you are buying. If I wanted to buy with only budget in mind, I would shop at Target.

I shop Stella because I like the style, design and sensibility of the fabrics. The clothes are super adorable, hold up in the washer and comfortable to wear.

I also shop Etsy and $5.00 is ridiculous, no one is selling anything like this line of clothes for $5.00! I have alot of respect for the artists on Etsy and believe they should be paid well for the craft they produce. I certainly am not looking to take advantage of someone who can make a dress by paying them $5.00 for material and labor. That is insulting.

My 6 year old neice has been wearing Stella since she was born and always looks Chic !!

Stella is great value for such high quality and is made in the US !

I have been buying Stella for my 6 year old neice since she was born and they are the chicest dresses on the market !

Great quality, great style and made in the US.

I agree with Nana. My daughter has worn Stella for years. The quality is fantastic. I would say that what sets Stella apart is the combination of quality, style and fit. I’ve bought items from Target and the fit is terrible and quality poor – the pieces don’t last and they don’t look great even on the first couple wears. I’ve bought items from higher end places like Mini Boden found that again Stella has a stellar fit and a style that really stands out. Not all of Stella’s items are as expensive as the Starlet dress. This is a very special and lovely piece. Stella also makes great leggings/demim jeggings that my daughter wears to school every week – sometimes under Stella dresses. Another thing that I think my daughter appreciates is that Stella is stylish but also easy to wear. Sometimes nicer items tend to have a lot of buttons or extra bits…Stella is stylish, sophisticated but also very comfortable and practical.

Love..love…love! Stella clothes are fantastic. They are stylish and classic at the same time. Considering the quality of the items the cost is not unreasonable. I hope we see much more from Stella Industries.

Our daughter loves stella dresses and has been wearing them for years. They are perfect to dress up in and wear on the road. They are super comfortable and beatiful. After she grows out of them, we give them to friends who can’t wait to have them. Stella dresses are the smartest most well worn dresses in our house.

I LOVE this label!!! My daughter has a dress with pink tulle tutu attached. It washes beautifully. And she gets trillions of compliments whenever in it. Also, I’ve seen this line discounted heavily on the Mini Social website!

Love this line! So well made, so special. Washes amazingly well. Wish I could say the same for all the Target and Old Navy clothes I’ve purchased.

My daughter wore a tut dress for her first birthday and it was such a hit. We love Stella Industries. there is always a special touch to each design. I think the clothing is priced perfectly for the value. Love this stuff!

my 6-year-old daughter has worn stella since she was 7 months old, and every year she asks me when we’re getting the next set of stellas. i love the sensibilities of ary park, the designer, who puts a modern twist to little girls’ clothes. so my daughter has the option of being cute and princessy some times and modern and edgy at other times. but what makes stella clothes so wonderful is that they are wearable and durable. my daughter wears them when she rides her bike, jump in a bounce house, and climb play structures. and the skirts and dresses have survived quite well. we also get a lot of stella hand-me-downs from friends, and are able to pass them on to other little girls. the only problem i have is that they don’t have mom’s sizes because many of them are cool enough for grown-ups. it would also THRILL my daughter if we could wear matching stella outfits! PLEASE MAKE MOMMY & ME dresses!!

Love these dresses, so cute! Looking forward to giving as a gift to one of my friends darling little daughters. Perfect for special days!

Stella clothes are made in USA and pay USA wages. I support local industries and producers because I want my hard earned dollars to stay in my community. Buy made in USA and buy artful and interesting clothing made with good fabrics. Stella is for moms and are interested in quality over quantity. I’d rather have to do my laundry frequently than have a stack of made in China/Vietnam polyester caca in my dresser. Keep you dollars at home while helping Americans remain self sufficient.
