I graduated in 2002 and wanted to bring a girl to prom, but we didn’t go through with it (people from her church were going to be there and she didn’t want anyone asking questions then). I always wished I could have taken the person I wanted to, but instead I went solo. I’m glad that nearly 10 years later, the attitude has clearly changed in some schools.. I think eventually, the other schools will get with the times and be more accepting, too. It may take time, but I truly believe one day, it won’t be an issue.
