Baby On the Way for Mike Myers

Soul Brother/FilmMagic

Yeah, baby – Mike Myers and wife Kelly Tisdale are expecting their first little Myers, a rep for the Austin Powers star confirms to PEOPLE.

This will be the couple’s first child, and Tisdale, who was recently spotted sporting a bump in New York City, is already in her second trimester.

“We are overjoyed,” the couple said in a statement.

Myers, 47, and Tisdale wed last fall — but managed to keep their big day a secret until March. The couple began dating in 2006 after Myers split from his wife of 12 years, Robin Ruzan. They had no children.

The New York Post was the first to report the pregnancy.

Yay !
Congrats to them. I love Mike Myers.

- Alma on

Here comes his mini me.

- Milosh on

Congratulations to Mike and his wife!

And this baby boom is insane. And speaking of the baby boom, I wonder if we’re going to get an announcement from Jenna Fischer today.

- klutzy_girl on

I am truly happy for him and Kelly–congrats both times on the wonderful news!! :)

- Sarah S. on

Gee, another 45+ guy with a way too young trohy wife doing the baby dance. Feel sorry for this baby already. His ex-wife has so much more class. Glad she is rid of this weirdo now.

- Linda on

Linda, I feel sorry for YOUR kids.

- meghan on

Lucky baby – can you imagine the bedtime stories!?!?

- KRS on

I wonder why he didn’t have a baby with his ex wife? Interesting.

- Shannon on

Linda, Kelly is in her 30′s and is the co-founder and owner of Teany tea café. She’s not a “way too young trophy wife” by any means, but rather a successful businesswoman in her own right.

- celeste on

This makes me happy. Congratulations to them!

(Also, Linda is probably Robin Ruzan’s mom, the inspiration for Coffee Talk. Just sayin’. That might explain the hating, lol.)

- Corrie on

Could this be the answer to the blind item about this a few weeks ago, having to do with a Canadian funnyman, his for-convenience wife, and a nurse at a fertility clinic who provided the Playgirl magazine that assisted him in giving his “donation”? Regardless, the kid will have a great life with loving parents. It doesn’t matter how they get here.

- Brandi on

Congrats to them!!

Brandi are you kidding or is that for real? lol

- Laura on

It’s for real. It was a blind item either on Ted Casablanca’s E! Site or another blind gossip site. I googled it because I couldn’t remember where I saw it mentioned, and on dlisted.com, they are talking about it today. But they’re guessing Travolta. ;)

- Brandi on

I saw that on dlisted, too. Too funny. Congratulations to the Myers family, though. How fun to have Mike Myers as your dad!

- Amanda on

Congrats!! My husband and I are the same age as Mike & Kelly and are expecting our first as well :)

- RachelfromBoston on

It was my understanding that the reason he and his first wife didn’t have any children was because he didn’t want or like kids. I wonder what wife number two did to change his mind.

Anyway, Congratulations to them both. I’m sure they’ll be great parents.

- Rachel on

Linda — what are you on? He’s 47, and she’s @30. How is that his trophy wife? Being a first time father at 47 is not unheard of, nor is it “old.” Your comments are ridiculous, and frankly, stupid.

- RKF on

Speaking of baby boom. Has anyone seen the pictures of Evangeline Lilly just about to pop?

- camilla on

Congrats Mike

- Aidan on

Brandi – Ted has also broken the story that the Afflecks are breaking up (weekly), among other garbage. I hope you take his “information” with a pound of salt. And Linda, stay classy!

- Erin on

Congrats! Mike is going to be a great father :)

- MamaBearZ on

My dad was 37 when my brother was born + my dad was 43–almost 44 when I was born–not uncommon for guys to have kid older vs. women who are the ones that carry the baby.

- Mia on

Cool and congrats! Nothing really strange about him being a dad at 47. My dad was 3 months shy of 43 when I was born and my mom was 41. Also include a sister and brother who were nearly 18 and 16 at the time I came into this world. I’m 15 now and I never even given the thought that they were older parents and they don’t look any different than my friends’ parents who were are younger..they looked to be the same. To me they were just my parents and they are healthy and happy..so what’s the big deal? I was thinking too that with his first wife he didn’t want any probably because he never felt ready..maybe when he got older, he probably felt more mature and confident he would be able to raise a child. I’m sure they’ll be great parents! :)

- Nattie on

Some people can find fault with anything.

More importantly, though, congratulations to Mike and his wife. I wish her a healthy pregnancy.

- Cecelia on

Just wanted to point out again that super-parent Brad Pitt is 12 years older than Angelina and is — gasp! — the same as as Mike Myers.

I don’t necessarily disagree with the naysaying, but if you’re going to naysay, at least be consistent in your criticism. I have never heard anyone vilify Brad Pitt for having ALL of his children after 40.

- Melissa on

When I think of Mike Myers, I always think of that one interview I saw him on Inside the Actors Studio years ago where the host asked him what was his favorite sound, and he said, “Robin’s laugh.” The camera panned to the audience where she was sitting and he said that his wife’s laugh was his favorite sound in the world to him.

Until that moment, Mike Myers had been just another comedian with a somewhat wacky sense of humor to me, and I was just so surprised to hear a response like that from him. I was actually kind of sad to hear of their divorce a few years back, but it’s good to hear he’s moved on and is expecting a baby with his new wife.

Congrats to the couple on their forthcoming bundle of joy.

- LisaS on

Congrats to them! I think Mike will be a good dad with a great sense of humor for hs child!

- Sarah S. on

Finally Mike Myers gets his own little mini me!

- Tanya on

It amazes me how people judge on how old you should be to have children and how old you should be NOT to have children. Then their next comment is “it’s not fair to the child” when the child’s Father is 45+ “old”. Ok, let me ask you this, Is it fair to a child when he or she loses their Father to a serious illness, car accident, fighting on front line if the Father is 25, 30 or 35 yrs old?

- M on

There is a saying—-I’d rather be an old mans princess-Than a young mans slave

- Marie on

I am fairly certain that Mike and his first wife had a sexless marriage because he was/is asexual so I was surprised that he got married again.

- adri76 on

If it’s a boy, hope they name him Austin ;)

- Susan on

I wish them all the best as I would any expectant couple. Niether of them are too old. I had my fourth baby at 43 and my cousin had her only child at 47. Both perectly healthy. Mike Myers is hilarious, I love the Austin Powers films.

- Belly Wrap on

Why is he so old?

- Haley Edson on

sorry but i happen to agree with Linda. looks like he traded in the old wife for a new, younger model who just happens to be a bleached blonde bimbo. i believe the old wife was a brunette so he went for the obvious cheap looking woman.

- Eden on

I thought Mike Myers was gay and came out after he split from his first wife?

- eyeswideshut on

Wow! Thats a slap in the face to his ex wife.
