1 Trend, 3 Ways: Mini Suits and Vans

04/27/2011 at 10:00 AM ET

Did we miss the memo? On Easter Sunday, we spotted not one or two, but three Hollywood lads rocking suits paired with checkered Vans slip-ons. Stylish brothers Kingston and Zuma Rossdale wore grey Appaman suits with white and black sneakers, while Deacon Phillippe rocked a navy jacket and pants with blue and black shoes.

We love the mix of a tailored jacket and pants with funky footwear — it’s dressy and fun. Since the Vans are classic and hard to duplicate, we concentrated our search on kid-size suits. Check out our top picks — for every budget — below.

Splurge

If your tyke’s social calendar is more full than the President’s, you might consider investing in Ralph Lauren‘s Wool Gabardine Suit ($440). Crafted in Italy, it’s fully lined and features loads of pockets so he can store all his important playthings.

Affordable

From the slim cut to the quirky monkey-print lining, Appaman‘s Mod Suit ($132) screams cool. It’s no wonder Zuma and Kingston already own it.

Bargain Buy

Make things easy for him with Arrow‘s Pinstripe Suit Set ($34). It includes the jacket, shirt, tie and pants so he’ll get ready in a snap.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
