Books and workouts don’t normally go together — unless you’re reading while on the treadmill. But Steve Ettinger‘s new picture book for children, Wallie Exercises, actually encourages kids to break a sweat — in the cutest way possible, of course.
Ettinger, a 25-year-old who coaches youth sports and works full-time as a personal trainer, was struck by the lack of physical activity he saw in elementary and preschools.
“They efficiency and quality of fitness materials available to schools inspired me to create something to fill that void,” he tells PEOPLE Moms & Babies. Having always wanted to write a children’s book, he decided now was the time.

When Ralph Lauren approached Uma Thurman to narrate the video for their spring 2011 children’s collection, the mom-of-two was more than happy to oblige. Not only is she a fan of the brand, but the company is also donating a portion of the proceeds to one of her fave charities — Room to Grow.
“Ralph Lauren is committed to bettering the lives of children in need and I’m thrilled to partner with them,” said the actress. “I love being able to help another mother who has the same aspirations for her children as I do, but simply does not have the resources.”

Following his ex Christina Aguilera‘s arrest for public intoxication, Jordan Bratman takes their son Max Liron, 3, out for some father-son bonding time Tuesday in Santa Monica, Calif.
Although the singer’s friends are worried about her, “Jordan has been really wonderful through all this,” a source tells PEOPLE.
“He’s been really understanding. [He and Christina] are rebuilding their friendship.”
