Jessica Alba: Pregnancy Is a Maternal Time, Not a Sexy One

Jessica Alba is expecting her second child later this year, and she’s feeling “good” — albeit not sexy.

“I just don’t associate being pregnant with being sexy,” the actress, 29, told PEOPLE Wednesday at the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day kickoff in Washington, D.C., where she brought along 2½-year-old daughter Honor Marie.

“I think being pregnant is grounding and you feel like part of the earth and connected with women. It’s not a sex thing to me. It’s a grounding, maternal thing.”

Spotted: Suri Cruise and Her Ladylike Designer Purse

We didn’t think it was possible for her to top those mini metallic heels, but Suri Cruise has taken kiddie chic to even higher heights.

According to Dolce & Gabbana, the soon-to-be 5-year-old was carrying a pint size version of their Miss Sicily satchel while out and about in Vancouver, Canada on Feb. 24.

At $1295, Suri’s luxe arm candy is more than most toddlers’ yearly clothing budget.

But should we expect anything less for Tom and Katie‘s little girl?

Sam Trammell, Missy Yager Expecting Twins

True Blood babies on the way!

Sam Trammell, 40, and longtime girlfriend Missy Yager are expecting twins, his rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“The couple is thrilled and excited,” says a rep for Trammell.

After meeting in New York doing theater, the pair has been together for eight years. Yager has appeared on Mad Men and Boston Public, while Trammell resumes his role as Sam Merlotte in the HBO vampire series upon its return this summer.

Edie Falco poses with her two children — son Anderson, 7, and daughter Macy, 3 — at a screening of Rango last Sunday in New York City.

“Anderson’s just a spectacularly beautiful little blond boy,” the Nurse Jackie star, 47, says.

“Macy has bright red hair and blue eyes. She looks like Chucky. She likes to say ‘Maaa! Maaa!’ in a scary voice, because she knows it cracks me up. I’m a cheap date. I laugh my head off.”

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Celebrate at Blue-and-Pink Baby Shower

The Conservatory Grill at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills was transformed into a blue-and-pink wonderland Sunday, as Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrated the upcoming arrival of their twins with an elegant baby shower.

The parents-to-be arrived at 7 p.m., with Cannon, 30, behind the wheel of a black Rolls-Royce that he gave Carey, 41, as a Christmas gift. They were joined by friends including American Idol judge Randy Jackson.

The adults-only shower had a warm and romantic atmosphere with small cocktail tables that were decorated with pink roses and blue hydrangeas. (They are expecting a boy and a girl.) Pink and blue balloons also dotted the private event.

Sophie Dahl, Jamie Cullum Welcome Daughter Lyra

It’s a girl for Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum!

The couple welcomed daughter Lyra on Wednesday, March 2 in London, their rep said in a statement.

“They are over the moon,” adds the rep.

Singer-songwriter Cullum, 31, and writer and former model Dahl, 33, wed in January 2010.

“My relationship with Sophie has helped put everything in perspective,” Cullum said at the time.

“It reminds me that while I love [working], and have certain responsibilities to my career, there are more important things in life.”
