A Bones baby is on the way.
Emily Deschanel and husband David Hornsby are expecting their first child, her rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
The actress, 34, and Hornsby, a writer/actor best known for his role as Rickety Cricket on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, met through friends and began dating in 2007.
They were married in an intimate ceremony in L.A. last September.
The actress is due later this year.

@ Marcia, maybe Sally meant Poppy will announce she’s expecting baby number 2? That would be fab, i just love Poppy Congrats to Emily and David! Not a fan of Emily’s character on Bones, i find her very hard work (but Emily herself seems lovely!). Have always loved Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia, its such a great show. Little Axel will have a playmate on set maybe? 2011 is shaping up to be a very happy, joyful year for so many!

Bones did say she wanted a baby a couple seasons ago…you never know. I really doubt it since Angela and Jack are having a baby and I don’t see the show going baby crazy.

Congratulations to them, it will surely be a beautiful baby! I do hope that they don’t write it into the show though, as much as I would love love love the writers to finally get Bones & Booth together I think a baby would just be forcing it and would be a “jump the shark” moment for the show. But regardless, I love this actress and am very happy for her and her husband

Didn’t even know she was married! Congrats on the impending arrival…and I too wonder if it will be written into Bones. As much as I’d love Booth and Bones to hook up, I doubt it will happen. I think it’ll ruin the show if they do. Plus with ‘Angela’ having a baby, I doubt they’ll have another pregnancy so soon after.
