Things We Like:
This stroller is jam-packed with handy features, so there’s a lot to like. Not only is it sleek and stylish, but it’s available in seven chic colors to fit everyone’s taste. But beyond its handsome appearance, the innovative design is what stands out the most.
We can’t say enough about the ride. The amazing suspension — especially over bumps — provides a smooth ride for mom and baby. And it’s so easy to push! The Callisto is also one of the easiest-to-fold strollers we’ve ever reviewed. It folds down and pops open so smoothly, it’s almost fun to do. Once open, it comfortably adjusts to any size child. Forget having to fiddle with a bunch of individual straps. You just pull the one-strap adjustment on the harness and everything tightens up accordingly.
It’s also really roomy, so even a tall preschooler could sit down and still have lots of headroom, which is great because it holds kids up to 55 lbs. It also has a huge canopy that includes 50+ UV protection to keep your baby shielded from the sun.
The Callisto also has some great accessories. If you’re toting around an infant, you might want to consider the carrycot ($150). Just remove the seat (which is so easy to do compared to other brands) and click it in. There’s also the brand new Aton infant car seat ($200), which converts the Callisto into a lightweight travel system.
Things We Didn’t Like:
The handle is quite high. For taller parents, that’s great, but if you happen to be on the shorter side, it may be less comfortable to push. And even though it’s adjustable, the handle gets taller, not smaller.
We also found the carrycot to be a bit shallow. Plus, it doesn’t include a restraint so it’s definitely only for babies six months or younger. That said, though, our test baby fell asleep in it on multiple rides, so it must be pretty comfy in there!
Moms & Babies Rating:
This stroller is pretty amazing. Not only is it smooth and stylish, but you can use it from newborn up to preschool so it’s a pretty good deal. It may not be a superstar off-roader, but if you’re looking for the perfect do-everything city stroller, the Cybex Callisto is definitely the way to go.
