The tie that binds!

Pregnant Kate Hudson, who is expecting a baby this July with beau Matt Bellamy, reconnects with ex Chris Robinson, his wife Allison and their daughter Cheyenne Genevieve, 15 months, in L.A. on Saturday to cheer on their 7-year-old son Ryder Russell at his baseball game.

“Chris has moved on, he’s remarried and had a baby and when you both have new people in your life, you have to really stay on it,” Hudson, 31, said recently.

“I think Chris and I both have that priority checked.”

I saw some other pictures, and I thought it was adorable and sweet that Kate was playing with Cheyenne! I don’t think that many people would play with their ex’s kids like that.

I love that this family gets along so well!

I love when I see extended families getting along wonderfully. So healthy for the kids! Yah for them!!

I love Kate! What a cool mom. Cheyenne is such a cute baby & lucky to have all 3 of those mature grownups in her life.

I love that they can all get along and remain civil, that’s so great to see since that’s not always the case with exes. It’s so important for Ryder’s sake that they do that. I love Kate, she seems like a sweet person and a good mom, so I wish her and Matt all the best with their new baby.

Now what, haters?

CelebBabyLover on

It makes me very happy to see this! I think it’s wonderful when exes can be as amicable as this, especially when at least one of them has also moved on with someone else!

I love the fact that some people are able to put the diffences that caused their split aside, and behave civilized for the sake of their children. And I am sure that Ryder is thrilled that is his parents get along. πŸ™‚ That is one lucky kid.

I love this picture. Very adult and mature of them all. This is ideal.

This is so cute and exactly how it should be!

T on

Really beautiful to see everyone getting along. I love Kate Hudson and family.

Shannon on

Very mature of them. Other people, take note.

Kristine on

This is how it should be πŸ™‚ Love them!

Kate is my favorite actress and seems so different from most celebs in Hollywood. Very down-to-earth and family oriented. I wish she and Matt the very best and a long-lasting relationship like Goldie & Kurt have.

Great post and kudos to them.

Ok, Sat, I’ll play along…

I think Chris Robinson should get the credit, rather than Kate. After all, she left him for someone else, why should she be bitter that he moved on? Good for him for rising above this episode for the sake of his kid. And good for his new wife for not being defensive. Kudos to all, indeed.

Oh darn, I didn’t pull off the hater thing completely, but I tried.

Aawww, this is just beautiful. If only all divorced couples could follow this example.

brooke on

What a wonderful example they have set for Ryder….so nice to see parents being mature for their kids instead of pouting and smearing their ex’s (Kelly Rutherford – I am speaking to you)

Cassie on

I LOVE that they have such an open and mature approach to their blended family. A lot of people could take a lesson from this (my parents included!!)

Mira- It doesn’t matter who left who blah blah. I am impressed with all parties here. There are so many divorce couples that can’t even be in the same room with each other for a minute without screaming.

serena on

Mira–Chris and Kate had been separated for months before she hooked up with Owen Wilson. The marriage was all but over.

I heard Chris cheated on Kate, but I’m not sure how true that is.

serena on

I don’t think anyone cheated on anyone. In Chris’ breakup song to Kate on the Warpaint album (Josephine), the lyrics say “No there weren’t no others, it’s not a matter of trust. Sometimes love is just not enough.” I think that says it all.

klutzy_girl on

Thanks for that, serena! Nice to know. I didn’t think it was true at all, actually, but just wanted to point out there were rumors about their relationship.

And I don’t know even know why we’re discussing this anyway. The past is the past.

Niche on

Its good to see them all getting along for Ryder’s sake. If only all exes could make it work like this.

klutzy girl:
So true. I just wanted to point it out because people (musers?) continue to post erroneous information in an effort to bash Kate.

Hea on

I read somewhere that they split up because they became more like best buds rather than lovers.

Mina on

Hea I read that too. This is cute, so is Demi/Ashton/Bruce. It feels wonderful to get along. Back in my early 20’s I went thru some major drama and didn’t speak to 2 good friends for years. When all our kids started going to the same school and became friends, I decided to break the ice rather than ignore these people who were once such a big part of my life…there was nothing to lose really, and alot to gain. Turned out, we ALL grew up. We act like mature adults and the kids love playing with each other. Its such an amazing feeling to put bad feelings aside/behind for the happiness of others (and even yourself). Now I look forward to speaking with these old friends on a daily basis, rather than stand akwardly, ignoring them while our kids play with each other. Sorry, I went into a story lol.

What a great example all three adults are setting!

I wish my own mother would’ve done the same after my parents divorced. Instead, she remains bitter as ever even though she went on to have three more failed marriages.

Ryder will benefit tremendously from adults acting like adults and not behaving like children, themselves.

@Sat: What was the point of your post? There was no negativity at all in this thread, and then you decided to introduce some, all while self-righteously acting like you were above that sort of behavior. But then I probably shouldn’t even be responding to your post and giving you the attention you so desperately wanted.
