Jessica Alba’s Pregnancy Style: No Lycra!

Jessica Alba is always one of Hollywood’s best dressed, but lately, the mom-to-be has been modifying her look to accommodate her growing belly.

“It’s tough because your body, the shape is totally different,” Alba, 29, told PEOPLE Thursday night during a dinner at Il Sole in Los Angeles celebrating the new book What To Wear, Where. “But I do feel more feminine.”

Looking radiant in a Proenza Schouler dress, the actress said she prefers “chic and timeless” over “lycra and loud prints” — which makes dressing for baby all the more effortless.

“When you have bigger breasts and bottom and tummy, [you] embrace the flowy dress,” she explained. “And I [will] probably wear a lot more boy cuts. I think [it's about] just getting to know my body and what I feel good in, and knowing what silhouettes are flattering.”

During dinner, Alba cozied up to husband Cash Warren and swapped stories with her equally stylish 9-months-pregnant pal, Rachel Zoe. Luckily for the actress, already mom to 2½-year-old daughter Honor, pregnancy has been a bit less stressful the second time around.

“It’s definitely not as daunting,” she said. “I definitely popped earlier than I did with Honor because the second time around your body has the memory [of the first pregnancy]. Having the belly grow is fun and exciting.”

she looks great…but am i the only one that finds it weird that she says she chooses “chic and timeless” and not lyrica and loud prints when she is wearing a dress with numerous lound prints?? a little strange to me!!

What’s wrong with me hoping they get the baby they want?

For starters, you dont know thatjuliet wants a boy because she wants to see what a boy of theirs would look like. Unless you are her or she told you. It could be many other reasons. So if thats how you feel, say you. You said in another post how annoyed you get when people speak for others. Some feel a family must have a boy and girl. Second, why not ask your question to suzy? She said the same thing!

And to answer your question…..um, it’s weird. Its not about you. And as a “fan” you should want what they want, but if you want to be interested to see what a boy would look like, fine. Two different things. Why want something for someone, if they don’t want it?
