Autumn Reeser Misses Out on Morning Sickness

Axelle/Bauer-Griffin

It’s a hallmark of pregnancy for many women, but “I’ve had no morning sickness,” lucky mom-to-be Autumn Reeser admits.

“I was surprised about that — I was expecting to make up excuses but I didn’t have to.”

Speaking with PEOPLE  at the Badgley Mischka flagship opening in Beverly Hills, the No Ordinary Family star spilled the beans on baby — it’s a boy due in May! — and says that although she’s taking birthing classes with husband Jesse Warren, she’s going easy on the parenthood preparation books.

“I read a lot about it in the beginning and my brain was getting a little soft, so I’m back to reading classic literature,” she laughs. “I can’t read one more thing about breastfeeding!”

As her due date draws closer, Reeser, 30, is focused on baby, joking that her “spring must have” this year is a crib. One thing that has to wait until the big day? Baby’s name. “We have a few, but we are going to wait to meet him,” she says.

Aww, it’s great that she didn’t have any morning sickness.

And yay, I was right about her having a boy! Can’t wait to see what they name him.

Being pregnant without having morning sickness sounds like a dream! She is definitely not missing out on anything. From someone who was severly nauteous for 4 months straight…

She looks absolutely beautiful, pregnancy looks really good on her. I am glad she is given up on readying baby books and gone back to other reading material. There is such think as too much information out there on breastfeeding, changing, bottle, toys all that stuff. You need to sit back enjoy the baby and learn what works for you and him. Have the basics and get the rest after the baby comes.

I have to chuckle about the fact that she’s having a boy and has had no morning sickness, since it’s an old wives’ tale that moms of girls experience a lot of morning sickness, and moms of boys exprience little to no morning sickness. I realize that most of the time old wives tales aren’t accuarte. I just find it kind of funny that this time around, they were right! :)

She looks just beautiful. I love her character on the show.

I’m due in April and also was lucky enough to be morning sickness free! She looks glowing and I’m def. curious to find out what name they pick.

I just love her attitude!! You definitely can read too much and start to feel “mushy”!!! =)

Wive tales…..again? They are brought up all the time and so often are not true. My friend is pregnant with her third boy and is full of morning sickness all three times. I have a girl and had no morning sickness.

- Jillian on

Can’t wait to find out the name..

When I was pregnant with my son I only got sick when he moved around. It felt like being on a roller coaster.

- M on

i always wonder why so many people think morning sickness is a given, i was never sick and only very few of my friends, i’d say 80% DIDN’T experience any.

i don’t know her but she sounds really relaxed!

Ummmm…congrats?

When I was terribly sick morning, noon and night for all but about 6 weeks when I was pregnant with my twin boys. In spite of it all, I loved!!! and appreciated being pregnant and would do it all again in a heartbeat.

I’m so jealous that she didn’t have morning sickness! I was deathly sick both times!!

Strange you determined it to be fact based on the experience of two people. I was pregnant with a girl and never had a single moment of morning sickness. There goes that theory!

You guys, CelebBabyLover is not saying that the old wives’ tale is true, just that it worked out in this ONE instance. Might want to work on your reading comprehension skills before you post messages implying that someone is ignorant.

- Excelda on

With my 1 baby, I didn’t have morning sickness either, but with my other 2, vomiting all 9 months. Goos for her.

- Mary on

Excelda- Excatly! I even said in my post that I am aware that old wives tales are often inaccurate. All I was saying is that it’s kind of funny that in Autumn’s case, the old wive’s tales turned out to be true!

I LOVE HER!

- Cassandra on

Ysy for her! I had no morning sickness with my daughter, only got sick because of a cold and by some of those horse pill vitamins! My MIL was actually pissed I didn’t get ill.

- Karen on

i have three sons; had morning sickness and brackston-hicks contractions throughout each pregnancy..

- kct on

I had no Morning Sickness with baby number one, but it’s gotten worse with each subsequent pregnancy. Just b/c you escape once doesn’t mean you’ll not have it another time.

- Annie on

Excelda, I read what she said…..and comprehended it. EVERYTIME she brought up the wives tale. And I still don’t get it. They are not true, so I am not sure why we are still not talking about. It isn’t that the wives tale is true….it is that she doesn’t have morning sickness :) No need to insult my comprehension skills. Working just fine!

- Jillian on

That’s a really high and round bump for a boy!

- Jennifer on

Jillian- Okay, maybe I got a bit carried away. I of all people should know that old wives’ tales are hardly accurate, since my own mother had morning sickness with both of her pregnancies (it was on the mild side, but it was bad enough that she couldn’t go into grocery stores for awhile because she couldn’t stand the smells!), and she was carrying a boy the first time and a girl the second. Sometimes I get excited about weird stuff. :) I apologize.

- CelebBabyLover on

Wow. No morning sickness? That’s great. I absolutely love this actress. I can’t wait to see what they name him.

- LoveCrazyBeautifulLife on

First pregnancy – sick the whole time and it was a girl. Second pregnancy, very little sickness, it was a boy. My sister didn’t throw up a single time and had a boy. My mom was deathly ill with both us girls and not at all with my brother. It’s been very true in our family!!

- miche on

I had a girl and had no morning sickness at all.
