Baby boy on the way!
Tad Kinchla, bass player for the band Blues Traveler, and his wife Carrie Hill Kinchla, former CNN entertainment journalist, are expecting their first child together this summer.
“We’re absolutely over the moon,” Kinchla, 37, tells PEOPLE. “Our lives are already so full of happiness and love, I can’t imagine how incredible it will be to finally meet our little man.”
Hill Kincha, 33, is currently working on baby names. “He’s got to have a sturdy name,” she explains. “The babies in Tad’s family are huge — like 10 to 12 pounders!”
The baby will be delivered in Austin, Texas, where the couple make their home and Blues Traveler has just finished writing their 25th anniversary album.
“I wanted to be close to make sure she had all the Lucky Charms and Vitamin Water she needed during her cravings,” Kinchla says. “This is such a special time, I couldn’t imagine being apart.”
The band plans on taking time off around the birth to give the family time to bond before hitting the road in 2012 to support their latest record.
