Milly Debuts New Collection for Girls

Courtesy of Milly

Mommy fans of Milly‘s chic and feminine fashions have more reason to celebrate.

The company has launched a line — Milly Minis — for little girls!

Designer (and mom!), Michelle Smith, decided to create a pint-size collection full of adorable dresses and coats using the same luxe fabrics from her women’s ready-to-wear collection.

Her 4-year-old daughter, Sophia, even stood in as the fit model.

Available now at millyny.com, it includes everything from beautiful floral-print shifts to oh-so cute string bikinis and silk cover-ups ranging in price from $95 to $245.

Our favorite is the red and navy Combo Dress ($195), which also comes in a grown-up version for moms.

Want to see more? Additional styles are sold at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.

very cute but do people really spend that much money on kids cloths $95 to $245 is a lot of money for a dress.

- B.R on

Beautiful! I would splurge on something like this for a wedding, but that’s about it.

- Angela on

B.R I totally agree.

That dress is adorable but $195? It doesn’t take that much material to make a dress for a child. That price seems a little steep.

String bikinis for children? Why??

- Katia on

Very cute. I want to buy one for my niece!

Cute but there are other dresses just as cute for 1/4 the price. Plus my 8 month old daughter grows so fast I would hate to spend that much on a dress she would wear twice.

- Holiday on

it is a lovely dress, but i can’t see myself ever spending that much on an outfit for a child. they grow out of things so fast.

- JM on

i would definitely buy that dress if i had the money

I agree that the dresses are very cute! (if a bit pricey).

However I am a bit puzzled by the bikinis, while I understand that little girls want to look like mommy I find them way too grown-up for anyone under 16….

- lily on

I agree w/B.R. and Holiday I can not think of spending $90+ on a dress my daughter is only going to wear a hand full of times.. just a little to expensive for my taste! But definately cute clothes!

Cute for sure, but for that price I would learn how to sew my own :)

Lisa I used to make cloths for my nice when she was little something like the dress in the picture you is very easy to make. Honestly once you see the pattern and how easy it is the hardest part is the zipper and once you get a hang of those you can create some beautiful dresses that will not cost you more then $20, $40 if you are buying fabrics like silk, but I would not recommend that for child cotton is the best and the cheapest. So charging $195 for it is just simply too much.

It’s a cute dress but it’s not a very complicated pattern. Quite easy to make one yourself for a lot less money.

I think the bikinis look cute too, nothing adult about them.

B.R. don’t forget that the salary of the seemstress, the designer, the shop owner etc are included in that amount. Just sain’

- MiB on

MiB “salary of the seemstress” most of these cloths are made in third world country, unless the company made a specific stand and has the cloths made some where else or does it as fair trade items. I am not sure which Milly is since her site or the story above don’t say anything about it, but I bet things are made in a third world country, and if they are there is no such thing as the salary for the seamstress. Cloths are made for less then a dollar, three at the most, then sold for $195, heck of a mark up if you ask me. Just a thought.

Milly is very unique in that the majority of the collection is made in the USA. This sets the brand apart from many of the other American designers. The collections are crafted from luxurious European fabrics and prints, and then produced in the USA!

Very cute dresses, but way over priced..My granddaughter (8) has a swim suit made just like the yellow doted one except her’s is white and the dots are yellow..I didn’t even give $5.00 for it, much less $95.00..I don’t care where they are made or who designed them, they aren’t worth $200.00…
