Hey baby!

It’s a girl for Tony Kanal and Erin Lokitz, who welcomed daughter Coco Reese Lakshmi Kanal on Monday, Jan. 24, the couple confirms in a statement posted on the band’s Web site.

“Welcome to the world our gorgeous daughter,” the bassist, 40, and his longtime girlfriend wrote. “Mom, Dad and Baby are happy and in love.”

Coco joins the other No Doubt children: Gwen Stefani is mom to sons Zuma, 2, and Kingston, 4½, Tom Dumont has sons Rio, 2½, and Ace, 4½, with a third baby on the way, while Adrian Young is dad to son Mason, 8½.

Congrats! I love the name Coco! I personally would use the name Reese on a boy.

Taylor on

Congratulations to Tony and Erin! I’ve been waiting for this announcement! Coco Kanal sounds great together! I’m sure she’s stunning! Finally a little girl for the No Doubt clan 🙂

Brooke on

I kind of like Coco Reese. Kind of sounds like a candy bar…..

Mallory on

Not a big fan of the name Coco, but I love Reese and think Coco Reese sounds absolutely ADORABLE together! Congrats to Tony and Erin!!!!!

nelly on

love the inclusion of an indian name …passing on culture to children is wonderful.. and coco is a fun hollywood name ..congrats to the mom and dad

Olivia on

The whole name sounds like some sort of candy.

Sarah S. on

Welcome to the world, Coco Kanal! Congrats to them! 🙂

shannon on

Finally there’s a baby girl in the No Doubt family!

Colleen on

Congrats to Tony and his girlfriend. The first girl of 5 boys in the group.

Mira on

Not liking the name at all. Very contrived. But congrats, of course!

Mia on

A No Doubt Girl-Congrats to them!! I’m not a huge fan of names that where the first/last have the same sound but I bet she’s adorable.

Hope we see pix!

ericka on

beautiful name!

I wonder where Lakshmi comes from? Every time I hear that name I think of Padma Lakshmi

Anonymous on

how is the name contrived? i think that’s a ridiculous thing to say.

Lisa on

I like the name until the last name is included. Coco Kanal – Like Coco Chanel?
I don’t get why people don’t say the entire name together before they name their kids?? I had the same issue with Orlando Bloom/Miranda Kerr: Loved Flynn, Flynn Kerr-Bloom, not so much…

CelebBabyLover on

Congrats to them! I didn’t realize she was due so soon!

Sophia on

Coco Reese Lakshmi is cute and so varied! Cute Coco, trendy/masculine Reese and beautiful Indian Lakshmi. I like it 🙂 Congratulations to Tony and Erin, and how lovely to have a little girl in the No Doubt clan!

Congratulations! I love the name Reese!

Anna on

Coco Reese is an adorable name… But am I the only one who thinks of Coco Chanel?

JM on

congrats to them. do not like the name coco at all, it sounds like a name you would give a pet. but to each their own.
i wish them all the happiness in the world.

Courteney Cox named her daughter Coco Riley. Never heard of Coco except for that. It’s cute for a little girl – not so sure about older. But who cares, it’s their daughter – congratulations!

Romy on

sounds like Coco Channel

Amanda on

Sorry but Coco is not a name for a child! FAIL

Jules on

cute – I have a six year old son Reese and prefer Reese as a boys name.

Mira on

Contrived=planned, not spontaneous.

They planned a trendy/ethnic/androgynous name that will hit all the current trends and on top of it, with the last name, a name, which evokes the name of a fashion icon. This name is the definition of contrived. Only Bronx Mowgli beats it.

Jill on

I am not a fan of the name, especially after the whole Team Coco. Got a little overused. But to each their own….seems to suit them.

I am also not understanding how it is contrived….and understand it less, after you provided your definition, Mira. And I am very well aware of what the word means… the way.

There has been nothing released saying Flynn’s name is Flynn Kerr Bloom……at least that I have seen.

Macy on

Coco sounds like a poodle’s name, and Reese is a boys name.

Not a fan.

Taylor on

Mira, perhaps they liked the names because ::gasp:: they liked the names.

JMO on

They finally have their “GWEN” of the group 😉
It’s officially a baby band!!!! lol

Congrats to the happy couple! I am not a fan of coco (probably cause I met several dogs named coco) but it does flow nicely!

RachelfromBoston on

I LOVE ND babies!!! and loooooove the name Coco AND Reese AND Lakshmi all together –
can’t wait to see the first picture of this no doubt-edly (hehe) gorgeous little girl! CONGRATS!! ❤

Shannon on

Coco? Makes me think about Cocoa Puffs. 🙂 Will she go by Coco Reese or just Coco? (Like some people go by Mary Ann versus Mary.)

Reese is a fine name though. Think about Reese Witherspoon – it works for her. Reese Lakshmi would be cute. Anyway congrats!

soph on

JMO – so funny, baby band!

I think the name sounds super Hollywood (Courteney Cox’s Coco, Reese Witherspoon), and it makes me crave chocolate, but it’s not bad overall. Pleasant sound.

Olivia on

I’m thinking the same as Brooke. I like the names Coco and Reese, but together it sounds like a chocolate bar.

Just Saying on

Coco sounds like a stripper’s name. Thought the same when i heard Courteny/david’s baby name too.

Lou x on

Aaw i love it! Congratulations to the two of them, soooo glad there’s finally a baby girl in the ND family!
Looking forward to seeing the little lady 🙂
Does this mean the pics of her walking a few days ago may have been Erin in the early stages of labour?! interesting!

Mia on

I wonder if they’ll be getting married soon too. Now everyone in ND has babies! 🙂 -I hope we see Gwen have one more!

Kewky on

@ Olivia Is that a bad thing? 😉 I love the name although I would never use it! But I love Coco Chanel so maybe I’m biased…..

Olivia on

Kewky, it would be a bad thing for me because every time I called my child by her full name I would crave a candy bar. lol.

Kellie on

Mira- Aren’t basically all names contrieved because some parents put alot of thought into what they will name their child?

madison on

cool name! i think its awesome, im not a fan of “different” names, but this one is great in my opinion 🙂

Crystal on

I ♥ the name Coco Reese! I like the inclusion of an Indian name to represent his culture. It reminds me of Courtney Arquette’s dauther Coco Riley! Congrats! Gwen…………. this is on you to have another one and have a girl so Coco doesn’t feel left out!!! Lol! The comment about a new No Doubt band is hilarious and TRUE!!! I loooove ND!!!

Jessica on

Coco Reese sounds like a treat hehe!! 🙂

Mara on

My sister is called Coco and everyone loves it. She gets lots of compliments. Plus, everyone remembers her. Haha.

Lyoness on

Love ND and love her name! Coco is cute. I love how they threw Lakshmi in there too. Can’t wait to see a picture of her. So… Coco’s going to be the lead singer in 20 years, huh? 🙂

CelebBabyLover on

Jill- I haven’t see anything saying that Flynn’s full name is Flynn Kerr Bloom, either. Seriously, where are people getting that from? Would someone please explain? I’m honestly curious!

Sara on

Who cares, it’s their child. You named your children without their critique. There is another healthy child in this world, God bless. Congrats to the parents.

soph on

CelebBabyLover, I don’t think anyone is getting that info anywhere, it’s just natural to think of the child of two famous parents as the name-name baby. Flynn is the son of Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom, i.e. the “Kerr Bloom” baby.

Jill on

Soph, That is weird to me. I would assume the baby is Flynn Bloom. I wouldn’t think of the baby as Flynn Kerr Bloom….. No reason to…. I am not following that logic.

soph on

Well, Jill, sorry you’re so confused. I imagine whoever committed the crime of typing Flynn Kerr Bloom didn’t know it would be such an issue for certain people…

Ally on

Lakshmi is a Hindu name. She was the goddess of wealth, prosperity, fertility, etc.

Jill on

Soph, I am confused with your logic….because it doesn’t make sense 🙂
