Look for Less: Ava Phillippe’s Cozy Chic

She’s got the look!

While hanging out with friends in Brentwood, Calif. on Jan. 3, Ava Phillippe borrowed heavily from mom Reese Witherspoon‘s style book.

The 11-year-old stepped out in a cozy cream hoodie, worn skinny jeans, a horse-print bag and cute red frames.

But what really took her ensemble up a notch were her lace-up Trooper Cognac Leather Boots ($100) by Steve Madden.

Love Ava’s casual, yet polished look? You’re in luck. We’ve rounded up similar items — all under $30!

From the cableknit detail to the stylish brown buttons, GapKidsCable Knit Hoodie Sweater ($29) is the perfect topper for winter.

Best of all? It comes in ten pretty colors!

Jeans

Need some go-to denim for your tween? Try Old Navy‘s Girls Dark-Wash Super Skinny Jeans ($19.50).

Whether she’s at school or hanging at the mall with friends, the dark distressed wash always looks cool.

Boots

We’re loving Xhila‘s lace-up Kashana Boots ($30). They’re the perfect balance between weathered and polished. Pair them with jeans or leggings — either way, they’ll look fabulous.

Frames

Got a quirky fashionista on your hands? She’ll swoon over Urban Outfitters‘s Thick Crystal Reader ($14). The wide plastic frames — also available in brown — give off a fun, cool-girl vibe.

Bag

What little girl doesn’t dream of horses? Get your mini animal lover the Black Line Horse Tote Bag ($17) from Cafe Press.

Not only does it have plenty of room for all her tween essentials, but the extra long straps make it easy for her to sling it on her shoulder and go!

Love this look for a tween!

love that look for me!

SP on

It’s not “all under $30.” It’s “each under $30.” Yup, I’m an English snob…but only when the text is misleading.

Ava looks absolutely adorable and very cozy. This is one of my favorite celeb families.

Tess on

I’d rather the fashion segments, which I generally skip anyway, focus on the celebrity parents rather than the non-celebrity kids.

Stella Bella on

She looks so cute!

Shoshana on

Aww, very cute — what a pretty girl!

Georgina on

I thought the same SP! Very misleading!!

So wait, she was ‘with friends’ does that mean photogs took pics of her without her parents even being there??? If so, wow that’s low.

Her outfit is cute! Her boots look really big though but it’s probably cause her legs are so thin.

Ava is so adorable! she looks just like Reese!! So cute :)

“You’re in luck. We’ve rounded up similar items — all under $30!”

It says in the last sentence (which is the one I posted) – “ALL under $30″ – meaning all items are under $30 EACH. If it said “All FOR under $30″ that would be misleading, but the way it is written is grammatically correct. (I’m an English teacher.)

I think Ava looks absolutely fabulous! She looks like Reese more and more every time I see a picture of her!

Is she not a spitting image of her Mama… She is soo cute, and I love that she is dressed so stylish and COVERED UP…..
Her style is happening… I love it. I adore Reese and her ways….

So now paps are taking pictures of kids that are out and about without their celebrity parents? Hmm.

SP – I totally agree with you …. I read that and thought well I can buy my daughter an outfit just like that for 30 bucks yay ……

Tess – I disagree with you ….. I like how they do both ….. like this one …. my daughter is just a year younger than Ava and would love to get an outfit like that for her …… that’s the whole reason they do these …….

Ava is definitely a beauty, she’s going to be a knock out just like her mommy; with whom she is a spitting image!

She looks so much like her Mama! So adorable and I love her style.

I am not sure how anyone thought you could get all of the items for under $30. That would be $6 per item…. C’mon, now.

Jill on

Oh and I don’t agree with the promotion of this as she is being photographed without either parent. Another site had this up on the 4th and got the same negativity.

A mini-Reese!! How adorable is she? I’d love for my 10 yr. old daughter to sport this look.

Cate on

If she was with friends, some a*hole called the pap’s on an 11 1/2 year old girl. Wow, you’re a champion. Round of applause for you.

Love the look! I want it for myself ;)

I think this outfit is not only adorable but age appropriate. I like when people has pictures of celeb kids and what they’re wearing because I like to copy them for my niece! :)

B.R on

What she is wear is great for her age and really cute, I would wear it myself. But this is a child we are talking about being taken advantage of without her parents around. Regardless of how beautiful she is this picture should never be posted, not without her mom or dad being there with her, cause then the decision to cover her up or take a different route would have been up to them, plus the seem like very private people when it comes to their kids and that should be respected till the child’s 18th birthday, unless the kids are being taken to a movie premier where there are photographers to be expected. But that is just me.
Congratulations to her parents for having what looks like a very age appropriate, down to earth, kid in Hollywood.
