A big ‘Thank You’ to the pilot who held the plane up so grandpa could say his ‘final goodbyes’. If I were on the plane I would have totally understood. And a big ‘Thank you’ to Southwest Airlines.

I agree Mary. I just read the story with tests in my eyes. Amazing and beautiful story.

I agree with Mary and IMO. That pilot (and the rest of the crew on that plane) did the right thing. Getting the passengers to their destination 10 minutes late doesn’t make a big difference, however a grandfather not being able to see his grandson because he missed his flight by 10 minutes does. Shame on those airport workers at LAX who wouldn’t let him ahead- I have heard LAX is one of the worst airports anyway. Hopefully those idiotic workers are fired. I also hope that the boyfriend of the child’s mother, who abused him is jailed. But southwest did the right thing and I praise them for this. I have always flown them and this article makes me happy to know that they aren’t afraid to do the right thing.

i, too, applaud southwest airlines. this story is truly an inspiration for everyone. this world is getting crueler and more selfish. this story has been on my mind for a few days now, and i will definitely go out of my way to do nice things. i only wish i could have a chance to do something of this caliber, but little things count too.
