Keep Your Tot’s Chompers Bright with Colgate’s New Infant Toothpaste

Courtesy Colgate

Getting your little one ready for brushing their teeth is rarely a fun affair.

They think the toothpaste is icky, don’t want to do it for too long or make a big mess.

Try adding some fun to the routine with My First Colgate Infant & Toddler Toothpaste ($3.99).

Not only does it sport an adorable animal-themed design, but it has a really yummy flavor.

Even better? It’s free of artificial colors, preservatives and fluoride so it’s safe for them to swallow.

Recommended for ages 0 to 2, it also features a unique dispenser that keeps messes to a minimum.

Ever wonder why they promote flouride free as a good thing in kids’ toothpastes, yet our tap water has flouride added to it?

Flouride is a good thing for our teeth…why would you want it out of children’s toothpaste?? If it’s so they don’t swallow big clumps of it…um don’t put so much on the brush!

Orajel has had an infant toothpaste with all the same features… pretty much the same thing for YEARS. Nothing new about this except the brand.

Jen-They are now saying that children are having too much flouride that is causing damage to teeth. If it’s in the water there is no need for additional doses, especially since some cities have over the recommended levels in the water.

Is this an advertisement?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a fluoride toothpaste from the time the first tooth is present, usually around 6 months. What changes with age is the amount. 0-2 should use less than a pea size, 2-4 a pea size amount. The small amounts of flu.oxide found in tap water and toothpaste will not negatively affect your child’s teeth. That condition, called fluorosis, is usually caused by flurried supplementation in the form of drops or tablets prescribes by a doctor.

I find this post to be irresponsible. Most children benefit from flouride way before 2 years old.

Excellent! I’ve been stuck with one fluoride-free brand. I’m so glad they are making more so we have more options.

“Irresponsible?” Hmmmm.
