1 Trend, 3 Ways: Animal-Inspired Shoes

01/05/2011 at 10:00 AM ET

There’s an animal boom in Hollywood — animal footwear that is. Recently, we spotted Zuma Rossdale and Mason Disick in the same adorable pair of cow shoes while out with their moms.

And mini fashionista Willow Smith rocked a pair of limited edition Jeremy Scott Mickey Mouse hi-tops during a trip down the red carpet last December.

A fun twist on traditional footwear, they’re a great way to make a simple outfit pop. Plus, there are so many options.

Want a pair for your little one? Check out our top picks — for every budget — below!

Talk about cute! Birki Kids slip-on Kay Clogs ($89) feature a double ankle buckle for a snug fit and a molded cork footbed so they’re extra comfy.

Plus, they come in four cuddly styles (gray sheep, blue dog, brown cat, green cow).

Affordable

Who knew Converse Chuck Taylor‘s could look so adorable? The brand’s Animal Print Sneakers ($35) will make you — and your tot! — swoon.

Our fave is the cow style (left), which comes complete with black spots, a sweet face and pink ears.

Bargain Buy

Let your pint-size princess take a walk on the wild side with Gymboree‘s Giraffe Crib Shoes ($20). Not only do they feature adorable felt antlers, but they also sport a chic ankle strap shaped like a tail.

Even better? There’s a stylish corduroy dress ($23.49) to match.

I want those Mickey Mouse shoes for my son, where do I find them??

These are cute, but I don’t pay that much ($89.00) for a pair of shoes for me, so I’m never going to pay that much for them for kids..Of course, to the celebs that’s not much so go for it..

@Jill I’m not sure where but I did read somewhere (?) they were made by adidas.

The Chuck Taylors’ anf giraffe ones are so darn cute!!

Does anyone know who makes those cow sneakers? They are so adorable and I cannot find them anywhere.

Cute gear, but does anyone find it strange that Willow Smith is mimicking Eddie Murphy’s style from his “Delirious” comedy special? Don’t get me wrong, I think her androgynous style is pretty cool (especially considering her age), but the red ensemble just totally struck me as Eddie Murphy circa 1983.

@Jill…they were limited addition Jeremy Scott for Adidas, out in the Spring/Summer line. The only place you are going to find them now is by a dealer on eBay and you will end up paying top dollar (over $250.00). They retailed at like $199.99 when they were released. My 15 yr old is an Adidas and Chuck Taylor freak…..and no she does not have the Jeremy Scott Mickey ones…but they are in a catalog she has.

Whats with all the cows suddenly? My kids aren’t really that thrilled by cows, tigers, bears, even a dog but not a cow? I don’t really understand the cow shoe thing!

The giraffe shoes are so cute though!

The Cow Shoes are by Kirsten Licet’s Farm Collection.
