Alison Sweeney gives son Benjamin Edward a lift before hitting the ice at Disney On Ice’s Let’s Celebrate premiere event, held Wednesday at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, Calif.

The Biggest Loser host and Days of Our Lives star and her 5½-year-old boy took a spin around the rink at the event, which benefited the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Sweeney, 34, is also mom to daughter Megan Hope, 23 months, with husband Dave Sanov.

He is a really handsome little boy :)

Lauren on

He’s a really cute kid but why is she still carrying him around at 5 years old?

Karen on

What a cute picture of the two of them!! I’m sure she’s not carrying him around, but rather picked him up for the photo. I think it’s sweet!!!

Angelina on

I agree with Karen. It’s a lot easier to hold him for a picture than to crouch down to his level :) I still grab my 5 year old whenever I can too!

He looks like Deacon….Reese Witherspoon’s son!

Oh for goodness sakes Lauren lighten up. she is carrying him for one picture, that doesn’t mean she carries him EVERYWHERE she goes. he’s just a little kid, and he’s HER kid, it’s her back, her muscles, why should we care if anyone wants to carry their child. this is one of those things i don’t get. people often complain that some child is too old to be carried, where is the universal cut-off point? and why do you care? i wouldn’t want to carry my 5 year-old but that’s because i’m not strong enough and occasionally have back problems. if someone else wants to carry their 5 year old, what is it to me?

I don’t understand why people are so upset about people carrying around 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Who cares. I never carried my kids past the age of 3, but that was just because they were big kids and they were too heavy. Either Ben is a light kid or Alison does a lot of strength training!

When did he get so big?

I hold my 5 year old sometimes, and my 8 year old. It’s called lovin them!

What a sweet picture! Benjamin looks so grown up all of a sudden! Lauren, what’s wrong with Allison picking up her son for a picture or carrying him for a little while? I don’t understand… children are only young for such a small period of time. You should cuddle them every chance you get!

"We weren't trying to have kids. We left it up to fate. I knew there was a possibility, but I was really excited. Even if you are trying, just to see a positive result is shocking!"
