Look for Less: Maddox Jolie-Pitt’s Furry Chic

Pacific Coast News

Clearly, little sis Shiloh isn’t the only trendsetter in the Jolie-Pitt crew.

While out with his family on Dec. 7, Maddox looked stylish — and oh-so warm! — in Eliane et Lena‘s Faux Fur Coat ($169), crisp denim duds and preppy white sneakers.

And to top it all off, the 9-year-old donned a cozy trapper hat.

Love Maddox’s winter weather style? You’re in luck. We’ve rounded up a similar look — with items all under $56!

We had a hard time finding a similar style to Maddox’s faux fur coat. For an equally chic look, we suggest Zara‘s Synthetic Leather Jacket with Sheepskin Lining ($56). The shearling cuffs and collar give it a luxe feel.

With so much denim on the market, it’s good to go with a classic. That’s why we’re loving Levi‘s Slim Straight Leg Jeans ($25). They’re both polished and comfy — perfect for rough and tumble boys.

Kids’ Converse One Star Oxfords ($20) are casual for school, yet stylish enough for a lunch date with mom and dad.

Keep him warm with Cherokee‘s Black Fashion Top Hat ($8). The faux fur is machine washable, so you’ll have no problem getting it clean after a snow fight.

Sorry, but I have bathroom rugs that look better than that fake fur coat. Maybe it’s the camera angle but it looks terrible!

How right are you? I don’t like the looks of that coat at all. Firstly, I would not have that coat on a boy to begin with because it looks like a coat a little girl would wear and secondly, that hat is all wrong.

- Sandra on

It’s surely a good thing that these kids are uber-celebrity children, and get private tutoring/schooling. Otherwise, sadly, they’d be the mockery of the playgrounds, with Shiloh dressed like an elaborate tin soldier/pirate hybrid and Maddox looking like a Yeti.

That kind of (faux) fur coat has always been considered masculine and been worn by men. Not really my style, but I would rather put it on a boy than a girl (who says furry coats are for girls only?) and I think he looks cool in it.

- MiB on

I think he looks very cool as always. Such a good-looking kid!

Love it – and always amuses me when ADULTS comment about how mean children will be on the playground. Wonder where they learn it from?

- brannon on

brannon, couldn’t agree more, it shocks me sometimes what some adults here say about children. i hope their children don’t hear them say that, although i know from my own experience that that is where children learn it from. i have a little girl who’s a tomboy who likes to play football and wear football shirts and stuff, i have heard other parents commenting on how she shouldn’t dress like a boy (and those are some of the nice comments) and then heard that those parents’ children have been saying mean things to my daughter. luckily i teach her to be proud of who she is, it’s just a shame not all parents teach their children to accept others as they are and not call them names.

pax is a little cutie. this isn’t the kind of coat i would choose for my own kids but i wouldn’t care if i saw another child dressed like this. who is he hurting?

- JM on

brannon and JM, I so agree with you! Sure, kids tease each other, but most of what they tease each other about, they have often learned from their parents.

JM
That’s my daughter, she’s only 7 but I had honestly thought about forcing her into wearing what I consider girly things. She has always been that way since Pre-K. Her teachers would say, “well she can plays dolls with the girls or she can play rough with the boys”. She is always wearing jersey’s, with a football, jeans and mid-top tennis shoes. = ) She’s a very, very quiet and sweet little girl though so I have learned to love and accept her just the way she is. Maybe she will change and maybe she wont but as long as the inside continues to be like it is, I will be very happy.

Sheesh, I’m not judging the child or even his physical characteristics. I simply don’t like his coat, an opinion I’m entitled to have and not even a “mean” one at that. But, of course, there will always be those who will make a rather innocuous comment into an egregious one.

- Angela on

Angela, couldn’t agree more. People love to make mountains out of molehills.

I’m certainly not condoning “mockery on the playgrounds,” however it does happen, sadly, and continues to happen. I was simply observing that if any “normal” (non-celebrity) kids dressed like this, they probably would not be well-received by their peers.

- kmb on

HE LOOKS GOOD ALL OF YOU GUYS THAT ARE WRITING BAD STUFF ABOUT THE BOY ARE JUST HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!EVERYONE HAS THE CHOICE TO WEAR WHAT THEY WANT!!!WORRY ABOUT YOURSELFS BEFORE JUDGING ABOUT OTHERS!!
