Family Photo: The Simpson-Wentzes Get Festive

Charley Gallay/WireImage

Ho ho ho!

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz get in the holiday spirit wiht 2-year-old son Bronx Mowgli, posing for a family portrait Saturday at the Old Navy Awkward Holiday Photo Mobile on the 3rd Street Promenade in L.A. to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“For my husband and I, it’s nice to start those traditions now,” Simpson-Wentz, 26, said recently.

“What we’re doing with the tree, what we did over Thanksgiving … we actually had an amazing Thanksgiving with Pete’s family.”

Don’t like this photo at all!! sorry

- molly on

There’s too many patterns in that picture. It’s too “busy.”

- Tess on

How does St. Jude’s Hospital benefit from this? Just curious..

- samantha on

the fact that you (molly & tess) don’t like the photo suggests they achieved their aim of taking suitably an awkward picture.

- hannah on

Isn’t the point to be awkward and silly? Love it! :) Bronx looks like his Dad in this picture, cute cute!

- jessicad on

Yes, I read the awkward sign before posting.

- Tess on

Love..Love this family…love the idea that they believe in having their own traditions for themselves….this is funny but ever so sweet because its the three of them….great idea to raise awareness and funds for a good cause.

- Rosei on

I was wondering the same thing, Samantha. Does anybody know how St. Jude’s benefits from these photos?

- Tee on

i am guessing, you would pay to get your awkward family photo taken, and then the proceeds would go to the charity. that makes sense.

i like the photo, it is meant to be a total clash of colors and patterns and horrible Christmas jumpers. it is wonderfully tacky

- Hayley on

It’s tacky for fun. Like a play on those cheesy, Christmas backdrops from the 80s.

- Taylor on

What would make this picture perfect would be the leg lamp from a christmas story:):):) Cute family.

Cute picture! It’s going to be one to show the future girlfriends when little Bronx brings them home :’D

Yes, they achieved awkward! Love it! As far as them having a leg lamp, that would be priceless. I am of course being biased. 10 years ago I made my husband a leg lamp for a Christmas gift. It sits in our front window of his den all year long! We are a ‘land mark’ for the neighborhood. Every Halloween I get countless offers for someone to buy it. I do have 2 legs left, the other shoe and a stocking if anyone would like one! And by the way I ordered a bunny costume, a real bar of ‘life’ soap from eBay and our oldest son used his ‘red rider bb gun, along with the fire truck in our Christmas card one year. ( And we all wore pj’s too)

Love it!

- Amanda on

Great photo! They all look happy and I love the colours.

- Anna on

AWWW…THIS IS PROBABLY THE FIRST PICTURE IN WHICH I HAVE SEEN A RESEMBLENCE BETWEEN BRONX AND PETE….THEY HAVE THE SAME EXACT FACIAL EXPRESSION AND SAME CHIN!!!

- megan on

I think it’s a cute picture for a great cause.

- Toya L. on

For people who don’t like the photo…..do you know notice in the background it says “awkward holiday photo”? It’s obviously that is what they were trying to do for the picture. AWKWARD.
