Gisele Bündchen Debuts New Web Series for AOL Kids

Charity work and giving back have always been high on celeb mom Gisele Bündchen‘s list of priorities.

She has contributed to the Zero Hunger program in her native Brazil, as well as, donated a percentage of the profits from her chic sandal collection — Ipanema Gisele Bündchen — to help protect water sources in the Amazon Rainforest and Brazilian Atlantic Forest.

With the help of her father, she’s also launched Projeto Água Limpa (Clean Water Project) in her hometown of Horizontina, which aims to help establish sustainable environmental management and promote the recovery of riparian vegetation in the region.

On top of all that, she’s the current goodwill ambassador to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Now, the supermodel is focusing on getting kids — especially young girls — more involved with helping the planet with her new web series, “Gisele & the Green Team,” on AOLKids.com.

“There’s a vital connection between empowering our youth and protecting our planet,” she says. “And we hope to not only teach young girls about important environmental issues, but support them in building self-confidence and discovering their inner potential.”

The webisodes feature a group of teenage girls leading double lives as supermodels and environmental superheroes who stop bad guys from hurting the planet through illegal logging or pouring harmful chemicals in the ocean.

There are also several games and activities, as well as, tips on how to go green. For more eco-conscious fun, go to Giseleandthegreenteam.com.

It’s great that she is doing all this charity work and all, but on a shallow note- I just don’t see how people think she is beautiful.

And no, it’s not a jealousy thing. I think there are plenty of gorgeous women out there. I just don’t think she is one of them.

- Lila on

Why do you constantly put gisele on this site? You know that she makes some people crazy here. She doesn’t bother me. I really think it’s racism, to tell you the truth. If she was blonde blue eye American, no one would have said anything. JMO

- toni on

Lila, I have to agree. I think she is very manly looking in all honesty.

- tink1217 on

totally agree with you lila, and i don’t think there’s anything wrong in saying so. penelope cruz is another one that everyone seems to fawn over and i just don’t see the big deal. i think she is fairly average looking….

- JM on

Not all models are beautiful but, gisele is an attractive woman. Also she’s made her career off her body to a larger extent. Theres a very very famous black and white photo of gisele with long flowing hair that made her very famous. It pretty much kick started her career. I’m a little disappointed that this post isn’t popular, I guess if people can’t ridicule her then they don’t have anything to say.

- Ellea on

Lila- agreed.

toni – Is blonde (flaxen) hair and blue eyes really that common anymore in the states? It is here in Scandinavia but when I try to compare… I kind of see a majority of darker hair colors in the States? And I just don’t get how a country with so many wonderful “colors” in it’s inhabitants and with the talk of freedom and equal rights can still be so very racist. It’s sad.

I like Gisele. I think she’s gorgeous and I think she does some great things for this world. If she annoys people it’s their problem.

- Hea on

I dont think she is facially the prettiest VS model (I reserve that for Heidi, Alessandra and Candice), however, she has one of the best runway walks that I have seen.

- Nancy on

You are all a bunch of hateful nasty “women”. They are commenting on something positive she is doing for the world and all you can say is that you think she is ugly? I bet you are little ugly brutish trolls yourselves. I also hope you don’t have daughters who you project your harsh guidelines on who and what is beautiful. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

- Jilliane on

Wow, Jilliane, I am so impressed about how you conducted yourself as a “lady” with your name calling. Gisele is a model and she is judged on her looks. People are entitled to their own opinions. We are not trying to be models.

- Nancy on

@ toni “Why do you constantly put gisele on this site? You know that she makes some people crazy here.” thanks for the laugh toni, so true what you ask right there :-)

- loren on

wow jilliane, first of all, breathe. and then think for a minute. she is a model who makes millions out of how she looks. do you really think she would care what a few anonymous people on a blog are saying about how she looks. because i don’t think she would. so what is wrong about stating an opinion about someone who makes their living off being judged by their looks?

- JM on

I think it is awesome that she gives back to charaties. She surely looks better than Bridgette’s desperate self does.

- Toya L. on

ladies, when you criticize another woman’s looks it makes you seem catty, superficial, and small.

Why not demonstrate kindness and caring rather than tearing other women apart? Does it make you feel better to put someone else down?

- fuzibuni on

I don’t see how not finding someone beautiful must mean they are “ugly brutish trolls”? Lol. I think Shrek is actually pretty cute myself! No one called her ugly anyway. Just that they don’t think she is beautiful and one said they think her features are kind of mannish. Don’t assume that you know what is in a poster’s mind when they leave a comment. I think Gisele’s main problem and why a lot of women find fault with her is that she tends to “put her foot in her mouth”. She makes comments that probably aren’t taken the right way or the way she might have intended. I don’t know if this a cultural thing or a language thing or just a not thinking thing. I don’t think Gisele is ugly by any stretch of the imagination but I also don’t think she is gorgeous either. I think she is interesting looking.

- Lilianne on

She’s not breathtaking, but she is attractive and has the look that has made her one of the most successful models ever. I wouldn’t care if anyone thought I was beautiful if I was her!

- Terri on

Toni, I really don’t understand your racism accusation . . . Gisele is pretty blonde and blue-eyed looking to me, even if her eyes aren’t blue.

- gdfg on

Lila, supermodels aren’t neccesarily supposed to be beautiful, they are usually tall, thin, with plain, even facial features.

- gdfg on

Toya, why do you and everyone else have to compare her to Bridget? They are two different people and I doubt anyone on this site knows them intimately enough to comment on their personality. Seriously, for all we know, the two women get along . . .

- gdfg on

Gdfg – I didnt say they didnt get along or that they were competing with each other. I just stated my opinion like everyone else did. Gisselle > Bridgette. I still stand by my comment regardless of who agrees with it.

- Toya L. on

Toya L: No one is trying to stop you from having an opinion. I think that some of us are just wondering what Brigitte has to do with this post.

But then I’m not sure what Gisele’s appearance has to do with this post either. This is a post about her charity work, and I’m amazed that some people have STILL managed to bash this woman when she’s doing something to improve the world.

- Rose on

“I didnt say they didnt get along or that they were competing with each other.”

Um, no where in my post did I say you said any of that. My point was that Bridget is not relevant to this article, so it’s odd that you brought her up.

- gdfg on

I think we should argue about a more important matter. The matter is: Why do we give so much power to Gisele? Why are we so crazy about Gisele? What this woman does that make women so angry?

As far I know she’s a just a successful fashion model who in the past had relationships with successful men and now is married to a football star who had a previous relationship with a failed actress.

I just can feel pity for the two children involved with Gisele, Tom and Bridget. These boys will receive the same amount of negative feelings from the public.

- Carey on

Gdfg – Well I didnt find it odd. Seriously starting from comment # 1 the comments started off talking about things that were not in this post. You brought up ‘for all we know the two women get along’. No where in my comment did I bring up anything about knowing how they interact with each other. Anyway Happy Holidays, I’m done with this post.

- Toya L. on

I brought up the fact that they may get along because your dig at Bridget seemed in support of Gisele. Either way, I felt the dig at Bridget was unneccesary and immature, especially as I highly doubt you know her personally. But of course, you are entitled to your opinion.

- gdfg on

Gisele sound pretty normal and somewhat odd in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FhcE74flwU
But I find hard to accept how is possible to have an amazing well shaped body after just five months givig birth.

- Carey on

Okay. I found my comment to be on the same maturity level as those who commented on looks in the first place and yours questioning/commenting on others comments but whatever. Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet?

- Toya L. on

Carey – I think it’s the fact that she is able to love and adore and gush about another woman’s child by her husband the way she does and speak so openly and neutral about it. Especially after having her own biological baby. Many women are unable to fathom that and/or feel the same way in that situation and thus feel somewhat inadequate and pissed off at her. She’s not “supposed” to be able to love her step-child and apparently needs to shut the *beep* up about it because it rubs people the wrong way for reasons I can’t imagine.

Loving another human being is never ever wrong. Your actions can be moderated and you have to be smart, but for everything some of you call holy, don’t tell Gisele or anyone else not to love, adore and include a child. Especially not in said child’s OWN FAMILY. A family which he did not get to choose.
