The rumors are true: Pink is going to be a mom.

The singer confirmed Internet reports — triggered by photos showing her with an apparent baby bump — that she and husband Carey Hart are expecting their first child, adding that her doctor believes the baby is a girl.

“My mom has always wished me a daughter just like me,” laughed Pink, 31, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Wednesday. “I’m terrified one of us will go to jail.”

Asked by Ellen DeGeneres why she waited to confirm the rumors until now, Pink explained, “I didn’t want to talk about it because I was just really nervous and I have had a miscarriage before.”

As for whether the baby was planned, she said, “I worked for it. … It was not an ‘oops.'”

Awwww, congrats to Pink and Carey!

Bella Mama on

This is wonderful news. She is glowing in these pictures. God bless Pink, Carey and their little baby.

Jill on

Congratulations to them. I am very happy they are pregnant and I hope they have a successful pregnancy and healthy baby.

Especially after hearing the reason why she had waited, I am really disturbed that this site participated in the gossip of “is she pregnant or not?” People/CBB, I thought prided themselves on delivering stories only when confirmed. I lost a lot of respect for both with the previous story of Pink.

candykane on

So happy for her. Can’t wait to see her grow. She was ready to make it known or she wouldn’t gone out in that outfit

Dom on

Nice for her to confirm it on her terms… I can understand her waiting since she has suffered a miscarriage before. I hope that if it is a girl, she brings her and Carey much joy!

Mia on

Aw-congrats to them :)

Jen on

Congrats to her. It’s nice to hear it confirmed because I was a bit uncomfortable with all the speculating about the pics of her in her bathing suit. I just couldn’t help but wonder how I would feel if I was the subject of such debate.

KimD on

That is going be a gorgeous baby!!!

Shannon on

Aw I didn’t know she had miscarried before. No wonder she wanted to wait.

Crystal on

I am very happy for her and Carey! They waited until they were strong enough in their relationship to bring their daughter into the world and that is FANTASTIC! CONGRATULATIONS! I can’t wait till she’s here!!! :)

Jen on

I am so excited for her… She has always been true to herself and how she wanted to be portrayed as an artist!!!! She deserves happiness with everything she went through as a child… Pink You Rock!!!!!

erin on

@candykane but don’t you think it’s a little sad when celebs have to plan their outfits around hiding a baby bump? They should be allowed to live their lives without people speculating about whether or not they are pregnant/engaged/divorced/whatever else. JMO. Congrats to Pink and Casey.

Destiny on

I am SO happy for Pink and Carey! Congrats!

Lola Marie on

Yay, so happy for them! Glad they worked it out before & realized they loved eachother…best wishes for them n their little one!!

CelebBabyLover on

Anon- I agree

candykane- I agree! Obviously she was ready to let it be known, or she wouldn’t have been out in public in a bikini! Anyway, congrats to them! Anyone have any guesses as to when she’s due? My guess is that she’s about three or four months along, which would make her due in April or May.

It will be interesting to see if she says anything about the due date on the show. I know that, when a celeb goes on a talk show and their episode hasn’t aired yet, PEOPLE usually posts just snipits of the appearence and then posts more once the episode airs. :)

Carli on

YAY!!!!! I love Pink!! (We are actually both from the same town) She’s going to be such an amazing mom, best of luck to her and Carey!!

CelebBabyLover on

I also meant to say that, while I like Ellen, I don’t really think it was neccesary for her to ask Pink whether the pregnancy was planned. That’s nobody’s business but Pink and Carey’s! And given Pink’s response and her comment about her miscarriage, it sounds like she and Carey may have been having some fertility issues.

I also have a feeling that the miscarriage happened during the first round of pregnancy speculation (the one during which Pink made that tweet about carrying a 600lb baby for eight years!). If that’s the case, then I feel absolutely horrible about that speculation. How awful to hear people saying that you look pregnant and such when you are miscarrying that much-wanted baby!

One other thing I meant to mention. How come so many people got up in arms when PEOPLE posted the speculation thread about Pink’s pregnancy, but didn’t bat an eye when PEOPLE did the same thing with Mariah Carey a few months ago? Okay, I realize that, in the picture of Mariah PEOPLE posted, she was actually wearing a maternity dress…..but still! I don’t really see that much of a difference.

Jacqui on

Yay!!!

Macy on

Congrats to Alicia and Carey

awwwwwwwww….So Happy for Pink!!! I absolutely love her, shes gonna be a great mom, and i hope she has a girl, but whatever sex the baby is, he/she will be stylin

cait42 on

i agree with you Jill, i was surprised to see that earlier post on the speculation of Pink’s pregnancy.

JMO on

Awesome! And a baby like her as kid, ouch!! lol
Pink will have lots of Pink stuff now to share w/ her baby (if it’s a girl)!

Brianne on

Congratulations, Pink and Carey! I wish you nothing but the best and I can hardly wait to see a picture of the little one!!!

Ashley on

YAY!!! Love Pink and Carey!! So happy for them!

Tee on

I’m glad this rumor has been confirmed. The “is she or isn’t she” thread really bothered me. I’m glad she chose to announce it rather than let the speculation continue. I’m sorry to hear about her previous miscarriage. Losing a child is horrible.

simi on

CBL maybe people feel the same way about speculation thread on Pink’s pregnancy as they did and do about Mariah Carey’s but simple have forgot about it or did not see it. I for one have only been on the site for about a month and in a few week plan on never looking at it again. But I do find the whole pregnancy speculation thing to be a rude, ill-mannered invasion of their lives.

I know people are going to put up but they have chosen this life argument so they should get used to it, but the truth of the matter is they did not choose to be celebrities. To me they have chosen to be actors, musicians, singers, models, tv anchors and so on. They choose a profession not celebrity, people who put themselves on reality tv, Pris Hilton, Jon and Kate Gosselin, Lauren Conrad, Brody Jenner, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag just to name a few are the ones that have chosen to be celebrities, and decided to make celebrity their job. So in my opinions they are the ones that should be followed all the time, should be shown in gossip magazines, have people constantly speculate on their, weight gain/loss, marriages, relationships, pregnancy and so on cause they have chosen this lifestyle and not people like Pink, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Williams and the others.

But since there is nothing a person like me can do about it I will say this. Congratulations to Alicia and Carey on the baby news. I do truly wish both of you all the best, may you have an easy, healthy, and happy pregnancy. Easy labor and a healthy baby boy or a girl. As for your mother wishing you baby just like you, my mother said the same thing to me. It did come true but that was the best thing that could have happened cause I understand my daughter on a level most people never get to share with their children. When she get upset over what my husband see as nothing, you get it cause when you very a child you were the same way. The threat of “hope your kid is just like you when you were a child” should be looked at as a blessing that it truly is.

Bancie1031 on

Awe! Congratulations to Pink and Carey! Pink having a little girl …. wow …… I can not wait to hear what she names her most wanted daughter :-)

Lyl on

congrats to them! yay I’m so happy, they are gonna be cool parents :)

Hea on

Big congrats to them! It was obvious from those pics before. While I agree that it’s not nice to speculate, we’re humans and that’s pretty much what we do. Eat, sleep and speculate. This is, after all, a gossip site. I truly hope all goes well for Pink and Carey with this pregnancy!

gdfg on

I think that Mariah Carey was trying to encourage people to speculate about whether or not she was pregnant and seemed to enjoy the attention, whereas Pink was not.

Hea on

Hmm, guess my comment wasn’t approved.

Congrats to them!

jessicad on

I’m so excited for them! They will make great parents:) She’s a good example for young girls and I love her music. I’m so glad they worked things out a few years ago, they seem like a great couple!

Paige on

Aw. Congratulations to Pink and Carey!

Jill on

CBL,
I didn’t see the posting on Mariah Carey and there probably were many people who did not either…..many people don’t come on here everyday and/or don’t click on every story. I did happen to just now look at the story and while I feel it was not tasteful, I can see why there was not an equal commotion. She is wearing a maternity dress and her rep’s comment. Also, the other articl was asking one to judge based on the article and the maternity dress….this one was based on the size of her BARE belly…..Regardless, I don’t think the article should have been here, but I can see why there was not the same response. Big difference to me.

And regarding the miscarriage…..given her response and her comment about it….what makes you think they have been having fertility issues. There is a high percentage of woman that have miscarriages every year and a large percentage of them do not have fertility issues.

I look at this story and hear her saying she had a miscarriage and hope that people and CBB/People will stop speculating and stop saying people are pregnant. Back when people were speculating before could have been when she was suffering her miscarriage…..not cool.

Rosalie on

Congrats to them, sounds like she is at least 4 months along!

Mandy on

Forgive me if I’m wrong but doesn’t P!nk already have a daughter? I don’t know why but I thought I heard of her years ago. Oh well, I must be wrong. Lol. Congrats to P!nk and hubby! Glad they reconciled and are now being blessed with a baby!

Amy on

I am due early May and I have to wait another 5 weeks before I can find out the sex of the baby. Celebrities might get “special” treatment when it comes to finding out the sex of a baby but I’d guess she’s 4-5 months pregnant….and doesn’t look it at all! :)

J on

Exactly Jill. I remember when this page was known as Celeb Baby Blog, they were against speculation posts, and now the tiniest bump is gossip.

Sarah on

Love Pink’s Music She and Carey will be awesome parents I know it. Congrats to them Both

dd on

I hope she doesn’t “beat the crap out of” or put this kid “through a wall!” Scary stuff if a pregnant woman is saying things like that. I can understand people who are not parents saying that stuff…but if you already feel like you are going to beat your unborn child…ugh. I hope this “tough and hard” act is only an act and she softens up and gets maternal!!!

Sheri on

I’m so happy for them. Congratulations! What a special time in their lives.

How sad PEOPLE forced this couple into making an announcement. I have no respect for the magazine, editor(s) and writer(s) responsible for their poor treatment of another human being. When the first pictures of the baby come out, I hope they go to any magazine besides PEOPLE.

Brooklyn on

Congrats to them! I hope all goes well for the rest of the pregnancy!

Shannon on

Well congrats to them! I can understand why she didn’t want to say anything with the previous miscarriage. I can’t help but think that she was forced to confirm earlier than she would have wanted to because of the Jillian Barberie (sp?) twitter scandal. Oh well!

Mrs. R. on

Amy –

I SERIOUSLY doubt that the OB involved said to him/herself “I have a celebrity, therefore, I want to do unnecessary gender testing”.

For all you know, there was a genetic test done at an early stage because Pink had previously had a miscarriage and there was a concern about abnormalities in the chromosomes. IN those cases, gender often plays a role because the genetic testing identifies many gender gene related chromosomal abnormalities.

Annie on

Cool! Congrats!

ecl on

I found out the sex of my baby at 14 and a half weeks, no special treatment, no special testing. It’s part of the regular scans they do. There are three done. The second is done between 14 weeks and 20 weeks and that’s when you find out the sex. So you don’t need to do genetic testing or anything like that to find out that early.

As for speculation on her belly, I would speculate too, since it looked like a hard, pregnant belly, not a flabby, I gained some weight kind of belly.

Michelle on

Even if you don’t take her previous miscarriage into consideration, I think it’s perfectly fine for a couple to wait to make the announcement. I know that when I finally became pregnant, I just wanted to get used to the idea, and enjoy having such a special secret with my partner for a few weeks before we made it public knowledge.

Sometimes I think Ellen can be very insensitive.

Idontknow on

She said in an interview for Australian tv that she is due in June.

Kristin on

Congrats to Pink and Carey!!!

In the years I have read the site PEOPLE/CBB is always very careful about rumors and wouldn’t post unless they know them to be true. I would bet they knew that Pink was pregnant and that is why they posted the bikini pictures.

If you want to say Pink and Carey were forced to make an announcement you should complain to Us Weekly because they are the ones who outed Pink, Mariah and Rachel Zoe in the first place.

I don’t agree with speculating either but I think there is some misplaced blame going around. I would love to hear the real story from the staff of the site here.

CelebBabyLover on

Kristin- I agree.

Jill on

But even if People/CBB did know…..they posted the story and caused people to speculate about a person’s bare belly. They have said they pride themselves on reporting stories only when confirmed from the celebrity….they should stick to that and not cause posters to speculate. They may know the truth but we do not.

And in regards to who to blame? Us Weekly is a tabloid magazine, so it is their job to speculate and report stories without getting confirmation. That is what they get the big bucks for….People gets the big bucks for reporting confirmed stories. Celebrities know that Us, InTouch, OK will report and speculate….the expect People to not follo suit.
