When she’s not jiving her way to the mirror ball trophy on Dancing With the Stars, Brandy Norwood is busy on the hunt: for a man!

“I’m looking for someone with the same values that I have,” the singer tells E! “I’m looking for someone that has a pure heart … someone that loves children, easy on the eyes, and has a drive to be something very powerful in their experience.”

Fans will be able to follow the 31-year-old’s plight on her reality show Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business, but Norwood admits her clock is running out — and so are her patience!

“I’m like, ‘Dude, hurry up before I end up not being able to have no more kids!'” she laughs. “[You’re] taking too long!”

Already mom to 8-year-old daughter Sy’rai Iman with producer Robert Smith, Norwood is hopeful her future will bless her with a brood of boys.

“I want three boys. I just think boys are cool,” she explains. “I have a precious little girl and I think she’s awesome. I just want to keep her my special little girl and then have the rest boys.”

Can’t help you in the romance department, Brandy, but you and Maks have my vote for the mirror ball trophy. Good luck!

Luna on

I vote for Brandy every week! She is FANTASTIC and I hope she or Jennifer Grey wins! I hope she finds a man worthy of her because she just seems like such a great person. Best of luck to her.

ELO on

Have patience. Everything when will happen when the time is right.

Shelly on

Give me a break Brandy. You’re only 31 and already worried about menopause?!

Amanda on

It’s not that unreasonable depending on her family history Shelly, not to mention it’s statistically harder to conceive each year after you hit 35 and when you hit 40 the risks go up even more and the chances of conception go down even more. She says she wants 3 more kids, so that leaves 4 years before 35 and 9 till 40 and she hasn’t even met a man yet. Fertility does run out and you are lucky if you can conceive after 40.

Laura on

Also not that unreasonable to be concerned at 31 if she’s single right now. It’s not likely or advisable that you have a baby immediately when you start dating someone! It could take months or years to find someone you like dating, then get serious, probably at least a year or two till you get married and then maybe another year or two before you have kids. I don’t think she’s crazy.

I do think it’s sad that she’d only be happy if her future babies were boys though.

Laura- She never said she won’t be happy if she has more girls. Just that she’s hoping for boys. 🙂

Ashlee on

Laura, I fail to see where it she says she’ll ONLY be happy if the rest of the children she has are boys. She says she wants sons. How that means she’ll be completely miserable with daughters is beyond me.

Plenty of mothers who have a son or sons have expressed their desire to have a daughter for their next child. I don’t see the difference between that and what Brandy has said.

i would love brandy to have another baby and do another tv show about her having her child it was enjoyable when she had her daughter (im waiting for number 2…love ya brandy and ray ray and the rest of the norwood family

I’m voting for Brandy to win DWTS and I hope she does win!

I never knew her last name until now, I always heard her referred to as Brandy. 😉

Shoot girl… when your done with DWTS, go buy yourself some sperm!

I think its pathetic when women hunt for men. Seriously pathetic. Sorry. She has money, shes young, pretty, has a beautiful daughter, she doesnt need to be pathetic. And i agree with Laura, too. She says she wants the rest of her kids be boys. She thinks they are cool and girls are not. Great. Cuase I’m a girl and I have a really cool girl myself.

Anonymous on

molly, you aren’t making a very good case for girls by leaving such a catty comment.

brandy is entitled to want whatever she wants… it’s her life not yours.

Taylor on

I’m sure if she said she wanted the rest of her children to be girls, no one would bat an eyelash. I know it’s a SHOCKING concept but some people actually want sons, especially if they already have a daughter or daughters. Go figure!

Crystal on

Okay Molly and Laura. PLEASE read the entire article before you start spouting off untruths! She said she wants her daughter to be her “special little girl” and then have boys. So she can keep her daughter her little princess and then have her sons. There is nothing wrong with wanting the opposite sex of what you have. It’s human nature. Get over yourselves! Seriously! Get a life!

CelebBabyLover on

Lisa- Maybe she doesn’t want to have a baby on her own?

Crystal- Exactly! She also said that she thinks her daughter is awesome, so clearly she doesn’t have an issue with girls. 🙂

CelebBabyLover on

molly- As other posters have pointed out, if she wants to have three more babies, she DOES kind of need to find a man within the next few years (since from the sounds of her comments, she isn’t interested in having babies on her own). She can’t just sit back and casually wait for one!

Lauren on

Well my mom and grandma hit menopause at 43 years old.. I’m already 25 so I better get going.

Emmy on

I love Brandy! Oh and just because she would like sons does not mean she does not like girls, she says that she would like to keep her daughter her special one and only girl, i see nothing wrong with that!

Amanda on

Obviously people read the title of these posts and comment before reading the article. I can completely see where she is coming from. A lot of first time parents worry about loving a child of the same gender as much as they love their first, it’s a pretty common worry. She just wants her little girl to always be her little princess. I’m sure she’d see if she does have another little girl that having two princesses doesn’t take away from the first, my two absolutely adore each other.

I have two girls and a boy, if we have another I’d love to have another boy, but I wouldn’t be upset with another girl either because I think all my kids are pretty great. There’s nothing wrong with a preference as long as you don’t count on it happening.

Kat on

Shelly, some people go into menopause very early. My MIL was only 34 when it started for her. She might have a reason to feel her time will out a lot faster.

Amy on

I have 3 younger brothers and love it, so I can’t blame her 🙂 I see nothing wrong with any of her comments, either.

CelebBabyLover on

Kat- Right on! It could be that early menopause runs in Brandy’s family. It does in my family. My great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother all went through early menopause (in fact, my grandmother, like Kat’s mother, was still in her thirties when it happened for her! Her doctor even actually told her, “You can’t be going through menopause! You’re too young!”).

Point being: Although women certainly can and have concieved into their 40s and even 50s, you just never know when menopause is going t hit!
