Life imitated art for Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley last fall.

“We were going through the same things that she was going through in the movie at the same time,” Kelley, 30, told PEOPLE at the New York City premiere of Life as We Know It on Thursday.

In the film, the actress plays a woman forced to raise a baby with Josh Duhamel’s character — a former blind date that soured fast — after tragedy strikes their mutual friends. In real life, the couple’s adoption of 22-month-old daughter Naleigh unexpectedly went through a week before filming began.

Mia Hamm’s Perfect Date: The Gym

Where do two athletes go on a date? If they’re soccer star Mia Hamm and her husband, former baseball player Nomar Garciaparra, the answer is easy: to the gym.

Hamm says that the couple, who have been married for nearly seven years, often spend their quality time pumping iron. “We leave the kids with a sitter and we work out,” says Hamm. “It’s something we can do together. That’s the time for the two of us.”

FEED Trick-or-Treat Bag: Something Good to Eat, for All!

Courtesy of FEED

When your little one is sitting atop a mound of Halloween candy this month, it’s easy to forget how many children go hungry every day.

The FEED Trick-or-Treat bag ($13) is a great reminder of how much you have to be thankful for, while also spreading the word about childhood hunger.

With each sale, a $3.50 donation is made by HSN to UNICEF to cover the cost of delivering a year’s worth of micronutrient powder to a child in a developing country.

Now, you and your tot can make a difference long after the Halloween costumes have been packed away.
