Ashlee Simpson-Wentz sports a short and platinum coif — the same color as 22-month-old son Bronx Mowgli‘s curly mop-top — as she arrives in New York City from Los Angeles on Tuesday evening.

Husband Pete Wentz likes the singer/actress’ new look as well — he Tweeted, “Cute hair mama.”

why does she always look so messed up or out of it lately? The worst was when she was watching tennis with Pete. I wonder if Bronx liked it right away. At that age any time I looked different my kids would still stare and stare at me like something was wrong. I think the yellow color of it is horrible, but the cut isn’t necessarily bad on her.

Oh, and Bronx is a cutie. As for Ashlee’s hair….she looks good with blonde hair, but I wish she would have chosen a shade of blonde that looks more natural. To me, the color she has just looks fake. I don’t mind people coloring their hair…..as long as it looks natural.
