Rescue Me star Andrea Roth is “madly in love” with her family of three — and it shows!

The actress offers effusive praise of fiancé Todd Biermann in the October issue of Pregnancy, crediting his sunny outlook with lifting her mood during what was a difficult pregnancy — including a bout with swine flu — with daughter Ava Reese, 5 months.

“One of the nicest moments came when we were in a pregnancy class together and our instructor was asking all the partners how things were going,” she recalls. “I remember so many of them saying how tough it was, and when it was Todd’s turn he said, ‘I don’t know why it’s so tough for everyone; We haven’t had any lows.’ It was so sweet.”

“He was fabulous,” Roth, 43, continues. “Even when I started thinking I was depressed because I was so tired all the time, he didn’t get down. He’d whisper, ‘It’s okay. You’re pregnant. You’re building our baby, just relax.'”

Now that Ava is on the scene Roth, who recently joined the cast of Blue Bloods, has been able to do exactly that, keeping her camera close by to capture each and every moment.

“There’s nothing sexier or more beautiful than a man with a child in his arms,” she says. “I must sound really annoying, but I can’t stop taking photos of the two of them together.”

Cute!! They seem very devoted to each other, however, my first thought when I read his statement about the pregnancy was maybe he was just oblivious!!!

” ‘I don’t know why it’s so tough for everyone; We haven’t had any lows.’”

That’s really clueless right there. I would never tell people “I’m not having problems with this and that, so what’s with you complaining about the same thing.”

And then the police had to be called because someone mysteriously slashed the tires on Todd’s car.

easy megan, neither would i. that’s a rough misquote – i would never be so insensitive as to question how difficult anyone elses pregnancy could be. i did say in the class how pleasantly surprised i was with how well Andrea handled pregnancy physically and emotionally – she did not have as many of the difficulties as friends have dealt with let alone the horror stories men perpetuate. she was then, and continues to be, inspiring as a mother and woman.

LOL, Todd’s pregnancy class comment sounds more obnoxious than sweet (I’m guessing there were a few glares from pregnant couples being sent their way), but I’m glad the two of them fit together so well. I love Roth in “Rescue Me” – she’s a talented actress.

“There’s nothing sexier or more beautiful than a man with a child in his arms”
Agreed. Paternal warmth is a beautiful thing.

Stupid man!

Nothing smugger than someone saying that it is a breeze for them.

Sorry, Todd – but even your attempt at an explanation just confirms my view that it was a smug thing to say! Even ‘inspiring’ women have difficult pregnancies – and *gasp* even find motherhood difficult! I’m glad you and your partner had a smooth pregnancy but unfortunately, sometimes life throws a spanner in the works for many people!

I had to lol at Kat’s comment!

Susannah- “Even ‘inspiring’ women have difficult pregnancies – and *gasp* even find motherhood difficult!” He never said they didn’t!

Does anyone actually realise that it was the partners who were asked what was tough for them? Not the women, in this instance, and the men do not appear to have been asked on behalf of the women, either. So I think Todd responded really sweetly by saying ‘we/I haven’t had any lows’ – we know they did because Andrea had swine flu for goodness sake! But he’s obviously a very supportive partner and now father and he said, ‘No lows.’ For him.
