Chef Nikki Cascone has a bun in the oven!

The Top Chef alum and husband Brad Grossman are expecting their first child — a boy — in January, she tells PEOPLE.

“Having suffered from endometriosis for several years, we feel so blessed and anxious for his arrival,” the season four contestant adds.

Fortunately, the couple will have plenty to keep themselves busy in the interim: This fall, they have plans to open Octavia’s Porch — their second restaurant in New York City.

Why is this interesting? She’s not even from the latest Top Chef! I clicked to see who the heck she was and she’s from Top Chef a few seasons ago. Man, anybody can be a celebrity now!

Abby on

@ Randi, chill out. edit your own blog if you care so much who shouldn’t be considered a celeb.

I agree with Randi. Who is she?! Hey, two women in my office building are pregnant!! :)

NJC on

She is a top NYC chef and one of my fav TOP CHEF alum of all. I hear she is getting her own show.

NJC on

She is also hot! pregnant or not!!

What an amazing dress!!! I just read that Christian Siriano from Project Runway made it… love that its not classic white! Congrats to them!

Congrats to them! And anyone else find it ironic that she’s the second person from Top Chef to have endometriosis? Padma Lakshimi, the host of Top Chef (or one of the hosts, anyone. I don’t know that much about the show, so I don’t know if there’s more than one), also has that condition (and, in another ironic twist, recently welcome her own baby. So Nikki is also the second Top Chef person in the past two years or so to be pregnant! :)).

Do you not know the definition of alumni? Most Top Chef fans will recognize her and for those who do not, don’t click on the link and move along, please. Far less worthy celebs get press about their minutiae. Leave this alone.

Congrats.

I have watched every season of Top Chef. I know who she is and I liked her, but this is a stretch to celebrity. She was on Top Chef and hasn’t been none since then. Reality stars like the Bachelor, Bachelorette, Top Chef, etc to me all fall in this category when they are only on the show.

Great to hear that Endometriosis is FINALLY being brought to the World’s attention. It is the cause of 70% of woman’s infertility. Not to mention how painful it is, physically & emotionally. Congrats to Nikki & her husband.

Celebrity or not, it’s great to see some attention on women struggling with endometriosis, especially when they are able to get pregnant! Top Chef already gave us Padma as a spokesperson for endo, who had a beautiful baby right before the last season started. As a Top Chef fan and a woman with endo, I’m thrilled to see this in the mainstream media!
