You’ve bought all your maternity staples — black empire waisted dress, wrap dress, maternity jeans, leggings and a few tunics — but how do you look au courant this fall without breaking the bank?

Style expert and author (Bump it Up) Amy Tara Koch, tells you how to mix and match your preggo basics with a few of this season’s key pieces for a truly up-to-date maternity look. Here are her tips:

Get bootie-licious: Sleek, sporty and undeniably cool, the ankle bootie is a must-have this season. For a stylish dose of haute mama attitude, try one with a slight heel. Not only does it visually lengthen your silhouette, but it also balances out your tummy.

Layer on the bling: Chicify monochromatic tops and dresses with flashy gold baubles. Strategically placed jewelry also helps accentuate your assets: neck grazing earrings emphasize a slender neck, long necklaces lengthen the torso, bold bracelets and cuffs focus upon slim arms.

Tie one up: Even while you’re pregnant, scarves are the ultimate layering piece. Drape them around the shoulders, bunch them up around the neck or toss them elegantly over the shoulder. This magical accessory can transform a ho hum maternity neutral into a fab outfit.

Stay knit-ty: For a cozy mom-to-be look, wear a silky dress under a chunky wool grandpa sweater or sport wide leg trousers with a colorful cotton wrap cardigan wrapped and belted over your bump.

Have fun with fur: Real or faux pelts put a luxe spin on basics. Take maternity jeans, leggings or a plain black dress up a notch with a cropped leopard print jacket or fur vest.

Add masculine touches: Fall’s gender bendingingly chic tuxedo jackets are the perfect way to add of-the-moment oomph to flowy preggo pieces.

Now that you’re armed with great maternity style tips, make sure to check out Koch’s style picks for the mom-to-be sale at Gilt Groupe starting today at 12PM EST.

Love it! I had so much fun during my pregnancy with accessories! I wore more belts in the last 9 months than I have in years! I had a lot of fun with my jewelry too. I piled it on! Long necklaces were the key for me and chunky bracelets. I also layered my clothes a lot, ie. a tank under a blouse with a sweater over it. Half the time people didn’t even notice that I was pregnant at first!! Now my belly is so big, it’s obvious, but I still try to maintain my style! Thanks for the tips Amy!!
