Joe Don Rooney Welcomes Daughter Raquel Blue

The Rascal Flatts family has welcomed a new member!

Guitarist Joe Don Rooney‘s wife Tiffany Fallon delivered their second child, daughter Raquel Blue Rooney, on Tuesday, Sept. 7 in Nashville, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

Baby Raquel was born at 4:26 p.m., weighing in at 7 lbs. and is 18 inches long. She joins big brother Jagger Donovan, 2.

“Tiffany and I are so excited to have brought a brand new baby into the world,” Rooney, 34, said in a statement.

“Raquel Blue is so beautiful and we feel so grateful to have this sweet little angel round out our family. Jagger is already an excited big brother; yesterday he gave her kisses and tried to feed her cookies! We feel blessed and are ready for the sleepless nights ahead.”

The couple, who wed in April 2006, announced the pregnancy in March.

Love the name because my given name is Raquel. @ Marilyn, yes it is a Spanish name, as I am Hispanic. For whatever reason, I have always been called Rachel, but Spanish-speaking relatives still call me Raquel, in Spanish. Not like when they pronounce it for Raquel Welch.

Anyways, not to fond of Blue, but whatever, to each their own. CONGRATS, by the way!

Raquel Welch’s father was Bolivian. Her given name is Raquel Tejada. Welch was her first husband’s name.

FYI, Raquel is not a spanish name. Raquel derives from Rachael and that is a hebrew name, that means “calm sheep”.

gdfg – I don’t know where the majority of them come from. Maria Bello (ER, World Trade Center, etc.) has a son named Jackson Blue. She has said that she picked it simply because she liked the color blue.
