We’re big fans of compact high chairs, so we were more than excited when we stumbled upon Joovy‘s new Nook Highchair ($129 -139).

Ready to use right out of the box, it boasts the slimmest fold we’ve ever seen. Plus, it features a swing-open tray so you only need one hand to get your child out of the seat.

It’s also easy to clean — the tray is dishwasher-safe, while you can either wipe down or machine wash the cover.

Available in your choice of black, white, green or orange at

This grandma encourages you to try to securely strap your child in this chair before your purchase! I have yet to use this high chair without being very concerned that my grandchild will wiggle enough to fall out during this process. I stand very close to her while manuvering the straps because there is nothing between the kitchen floor and her…no leg bar…no encircled seating area…nothing. Her parents do the same thing. The leg separation bar is attached to the swing-away tray, not the chair itself.

Compact? yes. But what difference will it make if your child has a concussion from falling out of a high chair.
Recommend? no. Ditto above.
