Jodie Sweetin has a full house of her own.

The actress, 28, welcomed her second child, a baby girl named Beatrix Carlin, on Tuesday, Aug. 31 with her boyfriend Morty Coyle.

“Jodie was amazing and is doing great,” Coyle tells PEOPLE. “We are now the proud, excited parents of Miss Beatrix Carlin Sweetin Coyle.”

Beatrix, whom her dad is already calling “Bea,” is the couple’s first child together. Sweetin also has a 2-year-old daughter, Zoie, with ex-husband Cody Herpin.

Baby girl made her debut at 7 lbs., 4 oz. and is 19 inches long.

“We’re already madly in love with Beatrix and are so grateful for the support from our family and friends. And we can’t wait for her big sister Zoie to meet her,” the couple tell PEOPLE.

deelia on

I absolutely LOVE the name Beatrix! Congrats to the family πŸ™‚

Anna on

I’m glad she didn’t spell it Beeeatrix to be “unique”. Still don’t get Zoie.

Crystal on

I ♥ that name! CONGRATS! πŸ™‚

Janna on

Awww… how sweet. I hope everyone is happy and healthy!

momofthree on

i hope she continues to be clean and sober. congrats to her and the dad. but why is she promoting herself? is she on a cable show now or just grasping for straws for any pubiicity?

meghan on

I don’t think she is promoting anything. Jodie hit a real rough patch a few years ago and I imagine she wants the world to see how far she has come. Also, Jodie was a child star, people remain curious to see how the kids they watched every week for years turned out.

TC on

I wish her and her family the best and I hope she can overcome her demons for good so that she can be the best mother possible for her two daughters.

sgv on

congrats! very cute name πŸ™‚

Shawna on

So she doesn’t have custody of Zoie? I wonder why. That is pretty shocking for a mother not to have custody of a little girl. Hopefully she’ll be able to keep the new on in her custody.

JMO on

Not a fan of the name…it’s old fashioned so I guess it’s fitting with Zoie. I would call her Trix or Trixie though. It’s kinda cuter then Bea! Congrats to them.

Bree on

Where does it say she does not have custody of Zoie??
Congrats to them both, hopefully this little one will be a clean new stage in her life.

Bancie1031 on

Aww, yay! I love the middle name. It’s my last name. πŸ™‚ Congrats!

Renee on

Jodie has joint custody with her ex with their daughter Zoie. not sure where you got the idea she didn’t. Very happy for her. grew up watching her on full house. Glad she has turned her life around and is doing so well now. Was not expecting that name but it has a nice sound to it. Different but not weird. Congrats Jodie!

tracy on

Not fond of the name, just my opinion.

Stella Bella on

I like the name a lot. Congrats to them!

@ Chantal: That’s exactly what I was going to say, haha.

momofthree…. “but why is she promoting herself? is she on a cable show now or just grasping for straws for any pubiicity?”

I missed where she was promoting something.

Lisa on

I guess she really wanted an august baby! waited till the last day of august to have her! jk! anyways i’m so happy for her and i hope she continues living the high life and her addictions remain under control. I cannot wait to see a pix of the new baby and big sister Zoie! Not a fan of the name Beatrix but who cares it’s a healthy baby girl and i’m sure Jodie loves the name which is why she chose it not me!

Corrie on

Love the name! Congratulations, Jodie! πŸ™‚

Tami on

Love the name. “Bea” is a very old fashioned nickname but I can see it being really cute, like a little bumble bee. Congrats to the happy mama!

Courtney on

It’s pronounced ‘Beatrice’, like Beatrix Potter, I’m assuming.
I’ve never heard of anyone named ‘Be-a-trix’.

gdfg on

“it’s old fashioned so I guess it’s fitting with Zoie”

?? Is Zoie an old-fashioned name?

Anna on

Courtney, the Dutct Queen’s name is pronounced Beatrix, not Beatrice. So there are people out there that pronounce it Beatrix like it is written.

Zoie is a made up name, not old fashioned at all.

Popularity: Zoe has always been a fairly popular name, appearing in the top 1000 names since 1880, although there has been a marked surge in its popularity since 1990. In 2006 it was ranked at number 54.

I looked it up..LOL! I was curious, I knew it wasn’t a ‘made up name” but I didn’t know how old it was. I would call 1880 old fashion to me!

Congrats to Jodie, I really hopes she can stay sober and take care of her kids. I would hate to see her downward spiral.

jordan on

Didn’t even know she was pregnant again….but that’s great. Happy for her πŸ™‚

Jill on

Congrats!! So happy to hear she is doing well and happy with two baby girls!! Hope things continue to go down the right path.

I too missed where she is promoting herself and where it says she doesn’t have custody.

Luna on

I was wondering why people assumed she didn’t have custody. A, she could have joint custody and B, there’s also the possibility that while she was delivering her child, she had Zoie’s dad take her. Love the name. Congrats Jodie, Marty, and Zoie on little Beatrix.

Cheryl on

IIRC, Jodie relapsed shortly after she had her first child, and her now ex-husband got full custody of Zoie after she’d been driving under the influence with their infant daughter in the car.

Crystal on

@Shawna- I think you misunderstood what the announcement was saying. It was saying that the baby can’t wait to meet her big sister probably because Zoie wasn’t there during labor and delivery (as most young siblings are not). Hope that clears up the confusion.

CelebBabyLover on

Cheryl- Like Renee said, Jodie now has joint custody of Zoie again.

Anna- Zoie is not a made-up name. The spelling might be (I’ve never seen anyone with that name spelled that way before), but the name itself is not. “Zoie” is simply a form of the name Zoe/Zoey (I’ve seen both spellings numerous times). πŸ™‚

Anyway, congrats to them!

Emily on

Ahh not really a fan of the name…it doesn’t even flow and is a bit of a mouthful BUT in saying that I’m glad Zoie has a little sister and am very happy for Jodie and Morty. Hopefully everything works out for her this time.

Susana on

Congrats to them!

Was she born by c-section like her big sister? or was she a VBAC baby?

meghan on

Zoe is Greek for life. Zoie is just a different spelling of a classic Greek name. I assumed they decided to spell it Zoie to mimic Jodie (with the ‘ie’ at the end).

Jill on

Why do I get the feeling she is having babies to remain in the spotlight? Unfortunately, I feel this is a sick trend among celebrities. For example, Nicole Richie is one that suddenly became more popular after she had kids. It’s a real slap in the face to women who have actually accomplished things by working hard, yet who don’t receive the accolades and attention.

meghan on

@Jill, I think that is a terrible thing to suggest. Not to mention completely unfounded. Nicole and Jodie both had children in there twenties (not that unheard of) and had them about two years apart (also very common). What would possibly make you think that these women would make major, life-changing decisions based on how much press they might get?

ps on

great name! i have a beatrix too! congrats.

Monie on

… Wow Jill… Bitter old thing, aren’t ya?

Brooklyn on

Wow. I didn’t even know she was pregnant again. Guess I missed that news. Anyways, I don’t really like the name, I like Carlin though.

JMO on

Yes the spelling of Zoie is made up but Zoe/Zoey is not a made up!!

Anonymous on

I do not like the name at all, possibly because it’s also our queen’s name (and I don’t really like her) so I am associating here.
I just think it’s an old-fashioned name.

I *am* happy for her that everything went well and I assume that Morty Coyle has been and still is a better support for her than Cody Herpin was during her pregnancy with Zoie (that’s to read in her book).

Raina on

Congrats to her and her family wish them the best. love the name!!! watch full house reruns all the time. cant wait to see some pics

Jenny on

@ Jill, what the hell is your problem? You sound bitchy, bitter and jealous about something you can’t even prove. Do you know Jodie or Nicole personally? No. They can’t control how much attention is paid to them once they have children. I think the only thing that is sick is your mind. Get off your high horse and stop making yourself look like an idiot. Birth announcements are supposed to be good, happy news, but no, you just had to go and make idiotic statements just because you’re so damn jealous that no one cares about you. Shut up and stop acting like a spoiled little bitch.

Robbie on

Zoie is a new spelling for Zoe, you know how things are always chnaging. I have a great neice who is a year and a half with the new spelling.

Stella Bella on

That’s one heck of a freaky theory, Jill. Wow.

The Pat-a-Cake Baby on

Congratulations to Jodie! We had the pleasure of meeting her on Saturday at the Pre-Emmy’s Boom Boom Room and she is such a sweetheart! I was a bit starstruck as she was my IDOL when growing up.

Hope you are loving your LUXE Mocca blanket Baby Bea! Sending a larger one your way…

heather on

COurtney, it actually is pronounced Be-uh-trix, or alternately, bee-trix ( just as Beatrice can be Be-uh-tris, or bee-tris). Beatrice and Beatriz (popular Spanish name) actually come from Beatrix, which is originally latin, combining the two latin words for traveller and joy. It is my little girl’s name, and we call her Bea (bee-uh).

Me on

How exciting! I like the middle name. It’s my daughter’s name! I’m glad to see someone else using it. The spelling is different though.

Me on

How exciting! I like the name Carlin- It’s my daughter’s name! The spelling is different though. I’m glad to see someone else using it. Maybe now people will stop thinking it’s just some random name I invented.

Sophia on

I really like Beatrix! I think Trixie would be a cuter nickname than Bea but to each their own. Congratulations to Jodie, Morty and Zoie πŸ™‚

CelebBabyLover on

meghan- I agree! Why would you put yourself through nine months of pregnancy just so you can remain in the spotlight? Also, I have seen too much of Jodie with Zoie, or heard her talk about her that much, but with Nicole, it’s painfully obvious that she loves her kids more than anything, and clearly doesn’t just see them as a way to remain in the spotlight.

And one other important thing about Nicole’s kids, they changed her life for the better (in fact, I basically credit Harlow, along with Joel, for saving Nicole’s life!)!

CelebBabyLover on

Me- If people think you made-up the name Carlin, then they’ve been living under a rock. That name has been around for years. I have even personally known two people with that name…..One a man (who is in his 70s, which proves that the name has been around for awhile. :)), and the other a woman. πŸ™‚

Congrats! What a lovely, old fashioned name! I love it.
I don’t know what Jodie’s custody status is, but Shawna (hope I am addressing the right person) I have two very wonderful friends who are great mothers who didn’t initially get joint custody, but to the ex husband first. They were both SAH moms, and the exes got custody b/c courts said they didn’t have $ to support their kids. I know everyone’s case is different, so I try not to project any ideas whenever someone tells me that dads have custody. Before I was friends with these ladies I always thought it automatically went to moms too. ANYHOO, sorry I got a little off topic. Best of luch to her with her expanding family!
