Team Effort Key for Erykah Badu’s ‘Little Tribe’

She might be a single mom, but Erykah Badu says son Seven Sirius, 12, has been co-parented by dad André Benjamin every step of the way.

“He spends a lot of time with his son and is present for every program, every report, and has him in the summer,” Badu, 39, explains to Working Mother.

“Seven is getting to an age where he needs his father more, and his father has made himself available … He’s like an encyclopedia for his son.”

The lessons he’s learned are taking hold, and Badu says that Seven benefits from all the one-on-one time with dad. “He makes very good decisions,” she reveals.

Spotted: Kimora Lee Simmons and Girls Hit the Shops

Kimora Lee Simmons and daughters Aoki, 8, and Ming, 10½, head to Fred Segal while filming their reality show, Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, in Beverly Hills, Calif. on Wednesday.

The girls are “very nurturing and have been gung-ho about welcoming [new brother] Kenzo to our family,” Simmons, 35, says.

“They’re very protective and love to watch him explore and discover the world.”

Green Alert! Apple Park Debuts Adorable (and Eco-Friendly) Plush Toys

The Going the Distance star, 38, recently described her planned parenting style as “a little bit hippie and a little bit Type A.”

She expects her first child with fiancé Martyn Lenoble next year.
