Review: Micralite Fastfold SuperLite

Courtesy of Micralite

We like products that perform as advertised, which is why we’re impressed with the Micralite Fastfold SuperLite ($319).

Weighing in at just 14 lbs., the high-quality lightweight stroller really folds up in a flash.

Even better? It has a really smooth ride thanks to the rugged pneumatic rear wheels.

Plus, it works with more infant car seats than the average lightweight stroller so it’s a  win-win no matter what stroller class you’re shopping in.

Things We Like:

The Fastfold Superlite has the easiest set-up ever!  It goes from the box to ready to roll in about a minute.

Once in motion, it turns with such ease (even with one-hand steering) and impressively handles corners. The front swivel wheels are lockable, while the rear air-filled wheels absorb the shock of all bumps and holes for a really smooth ride.

You can activate the fold with just one hand, which is ideal when you’re juggling baby in the other. And even though the Fastfold doesn’t fold up as compactly as a traditional umbrella stroller, it’s still a manageable size — it fits easily in the trunk of a sedan or in a home closet.

The basket is surprisingly roomy for the overall size of stroller. And there’s a nice selection of accessories, including a footmuff, an infant car seat adapter, a carrycot and a travel bag.

Things We Didn’t Like:

Although we love the eye-catching design, the sliding mesh seat is roomy at the base but tapers upward so there’s less wiggle room up top. So a child at the upper end of the Fastfold Superlite’s 55 lbs. weight capacity will probably feel a bit snug.

Moms & Babies Rating:

If you want all eyes on you and baby, this is the stroller for you. But the Fastfold Superlite is more than just a pretty face: It over-perform at all levels, making it a solid choice in terms of style and substance.

I think this looks ugly and uncomfortable. For that price I would expect a lot more!

I think this stroller is hideous.

Are you kidding me? Who in their right mind would spend that much on an umbrella stroller? Goodness, I need to stop coming to this site. Show me something practical, not trendy.

I like it….has that modern feel to it. I would buy it :)

It looks like a kite with wheels.

It’s hideous, V expensive and looks like a spacecraft

But it is, without a doubt, one of the best buggies I’ve ever used…and there has been ALOT!

Would happily recomend this!

I agree with Emma, the stroller looks weird, but is great to push. It beats every other umbrella stroller I have tried on rugged pavement, heck, not even a gravel path with lots of roots and big stone sticking up was a problem! As a former nanny and child carer I have tried most strollers and prams, and this is a good stroller, you just need to get used to how it looks.

I’ve owned this stroller for a few months now and it’s by far the BEST umbrella stroller I’ve used to date (there’s been alot of them). It’s worth it’s weight in gold and it’s construction and maneuverability cannot be matched IMHO!

I have the previous version of this stroller (in red) and I love it. It has a vented seat which is wonderful in the summer. It opens and folds easily, the handles are easy to adjust, and it handles wonderfully. It also has an air pump in the basket with velcro loops to keep it attached and an Allen wrench snapped onto the frame for on the fly adjustments if needed. Customer service is awesome too. I backed over the stroller (baby was already in the car) and broke the frame. I have a SUV so the stroller didn’t stand a chance. Customer service was quick, friendly, and responsive. They helped me get a new frame and wheels even though they don’t make my exact stroller anymore. I do have the carrycot so when I have another baby I can continue to use this stroller.

Luckily I didn’t pay $300 for mine. However if you add up how much money some people spend on strollers after they’ve had multiple children it is easily more than the cost of one great, well made stroller. I’ve used this stroller since my son was 9 months old (he’s 24 months now) and plan to use it until our next yet to be conceived child outgrows the stroller.
