Look for Less: Leni Samuel’s Pretty Ruffles

Splash News Online

Just like her model mom Heidi Klum, Leni Samuel sure knows how to turn the city streets into her personal catwalk.

Recently, the adorable 6-year-old strutted her stuff in N.Y.C. in one of her favorite frocks, the Faerie Dance Lavender Dress ($198) from Chasing Fireflies.

To dress it down a bit, she paired it with pink sporty sandals and a simple silver headband.

Love Leni’s sweet look as much as we do? You’re in luck.

We’ve rounded up a similar outfit — with items all under $25!

From the subtle bow on the shoulder to the side ruffle detail, Circo‘s Light Pink Ruffle Dress ($6) is the perfect blend of casual and chic.

Sandals

For little girls on the go, try Timberland‘s sturdy Riverquest Sandal ($25). The hook and loop velcro close makes sliding them on a breeze. Plus, they’re great in the water!

I think this is the prettiest pic I’ve seen of Leni, I didn’t even recognize her. She looks like her dad.

What a beautiful dress! And how cute…you can see one of her baby sister Lou’s legs in the picture.

I bought that pink Circo dress from Target. It looked adorable on my four-year-old niece, Ava.

She looks very lovely and with her hair back, Leni looks older than 6. But I find it remarkable that a parent (even a wealthy parent) would pay $125 for a childs dress. This is something that has a very limited season and shelf life for a child. It’s not like an adults article of clothing, that if you spent that kind of money on it, you’d still be wearing a year later (or more).

Granted Lou may want to wear it one day…but that’s many years down the road. Seems like a silly way to spend money to me. Their choice, and I fully recognize that they are in a position to be able to do so.

Anna although that maybe true, Leni has worn this dress multiple times since she was four. I’m sure this dress will not go to waste. Leni is such a stunning little girl!

She looks sooooo pretty.

That’s $198. Gorgeous dress on a gorgeous girl. That family is full of gorgeousness!!!

I agree, Anna. Clothes are my weakness and I’ve been known to splurge more than some would agree with, but I think buying for kids is a whole other ballgame than for adults. Investing money in a nice silk top or dress, a leather purse, etc. that will last for years is way different than buying for a child who will be able to wear something for a year at best-probably more like six months. At any rate, I do love this dress-it looks like a Calypso one to me, I was surprised to find out that it’s not-and Leni looks gorgeous. She is getting more and more pretty as she gets older.

Such a pretty girl

Although cheap, the circo dress doesn’t really come anywhere near the one she is wearing.

Anna, funny you say that, it is a bit pricey for a kid, but if you click on the first link in the article, Leni was wearing that dress in May 2008. and it still looks like she has room now. That’s 2.5 years, not so bad really! Plus, they wear lots of cheaper stuff too.

- Peta on

OMG, she’s gorgeous!!!

- Mary on

Well, considering she has worn it for about 2.5 years and still seems to have room to use it for say another 6 monts, that would make the price $66/year. Add 3 years of use for Lou, and it makes $33/year – I’d say that that is a pretty reasonable price for a pretty (and well made) party frock.

- MiB on

Not that it matters, but I highly doubt that the exact same dress that Leni wore at the age of four still fits her well at the age of six. Much more likely that she liked the dress so much, Heidi bought it in the next size up so that she could continue to wear it, even though it is technically a different dress.

- Lauren on

what a beautiful little girl! she is tall for 6. maybe she’ll be a model too

- lola on

unfortunately i don’t like that dress!
beautiful color but the ruffles just ruin it.

- erilynne on

We have this dress and the quality is awesome – worth the money. Love everything from Chasing Fireflies. The other dress is cute but they are hardly the same look :) Leni is so pretty. Love this family.
