Robin Thicke ‘Inseparable’ From Son Julian

Demis Maryannakis/Splash News Online

Striking a balance between discipline and unconditional love “is the key to fatherhood,” recent first-time dad Robin Thicke tells Vibe.

“I plan to pass lessons down to him with love,” the singer explains of son Julian Fuego, 3 months. “I just want him to be confident and never stop believing in himself.”

Like father, like son! Thicke says that his own dad — Growing Pains star Alan Thicke — laid the foundation for his hands-on approach to raising a child.

“I’m really loving, like my dad,” he reveals. “He likes to hold babies and talk to them and hold them different ways and he showed me a couple of new ways of playing with and holding my son.”

Candace Cameron Bure Proud to Be an ‘Overly Protective’ Mom

Vince Flores/AFF-USA

Acclimating to first-time motherhood in Canada — where husband Valeri Bure was a hockey star for the Calgary Flames from 1998 to 2001– turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Candace Cameron Bure.

“Some days I was itching to get back to L.A. just to have more movement and action,” she tells Parents Canada, “and at the same time, it was wonderful because I had two brand new little babies and the slower pace was actually a really nice lifestyle as I entered into parenthood.”

Life has sped up considerably since then, of course, and Cameron Bure says she has already talked about sex with daughter Natasha, 11, and son Lev, 10.

“We had separate discussions with them on just the basics because I wanted to make sure we were the first ones that talked to them about it and that they weren’t learning it from friends or school or television or movies,” she explains.

“They know it and they get it,” Cameron Bure, 34, explains. “So, now I am just very careful about what they watch on TV.”

Bret Michaels Draws Strength From Family

Justin Stephens

Life hasn’t been easy for Bret Michaels, who was diagnosed with diabetes as a child.

However, despite his recent medical upsets, his determination to succeed in life remains unwavering — a lesson he learned early on from his parents.

“I had great parents that allowed me to do all the things I wanted to do, but told me, ‘You gotta buck up and you’re going to have to work harder to achieve things,’” the rocker opens up to PARADE.

Now 47 and dad to Raine Elizabeth, 10, and Jorja Bleu, 5, his daughters with Kristi Gibson, Michaels says his girls have more than stepped up to the plate.

“The night I had my brain hemorrhage, my two daughters and Kristi truthfully saved my life. That’s the God honest truth,” he reveals. “When it all hit the fan, when it came to that moment that I needed to react, my family rallied behind me, and as a father, I didn’t want them to wake up in the morning and see me collapsed on the floor.”
