Pete Wentz holds hands with wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz as the couple head to a toy store with son Bronx Mowgli on Sunday in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Bronx, 20 months, is the first child for the couple, who wed in May 2008.

Earlier this week, we spotted Wentz, 31, and Bronx out on a father-son coffee date!

just wondering, though: why is bronx labeled the “first” child? shouldn’t he be called the only child (because he is), if or until they announce another pregnancy or have another child? how long are children considered firsts until they’re considered onlies?

I’m guessing the reason he’s refered to as the first is because people probably assume Pete and Ashlee are going to add to their family at some point.

Oh wow, I definitely though Ashlee was a brunette Whitney Port for a second. I’m guessing it was the sunglasses and the smile.
I really hope they add another child to their family! Bronx is such a cutie, it’d be a shame not to have more.

noam – I’ve pointed that out before too. It’s irritating to me to read that this or that child is the “first” when in fact he/she is the only child. Until there’s a second, there’s not a first.

I often wonder how celebrity moms can hold their toddlers and their partner’s hand at the same time! Do most moms do this? I honestly cannot do that with my toddler and husband lol it’s just not comfortable, I can’t even walk. Yeah, I wouldn’t look that happy and graceful that’s for sure

Ashlee has such beautiful hair and face. She’s getting too skinny though.

I will freely admit that I wasn’t sure how Ashlee and Pete were going to handle being parents but little Bronx is all the proof that is needed to show that they are doing a wonderful job! They seem to be very hands on parents and totally dote on their little one. I love the way they are often walking hand in hand.

Noam- I’d never looked at it that way. You make a really good point. It would be wonderful if Pete and Ashlee decide to add to their family but in the meantime, I guess Bronx is the first AND only child! He’s a cutie!

I guess she got extensions. Her hair wasn’t that long last time I saw her. Interesting colors. Can’t decide with color is best on her. I think I favor her hair when it’s closest to her natural blonde.
