Buttons Up! Brooks Brothers Launches Children’s Line

There’s nothing cuter than a smartly dressed kid. And thanks to the new Brooks Brothers kids collection, Fleece, you’ll see more and more of them this fall.

The 192-year old retailer tapped New York-based designer Nikki Kule to refresh its boy’s line, as well as, create its first-ever girl’s collection for kids 4 to 12 years old. The result: instant classics you’ll love to hand down.

“I envisioned Fleece to address every aspect of kids’ active lives today,” says Kule, who also designs her own children’s line. “I want them to feel like they can count on Brooks Brothers for everything they need from a plaid party dress to a sporty sweatshirt for soccer practice,” adds Kule.

From dapper Mad Men-style suits to pretty blouses, you’ll have no problem dressing your little ones up this school year. Our favorites: The collegiate cardigan ($79.50) and preppy cords ($69.50) for boys and the tartan-print dress ($80) and bow ballet flats ($98) for girls. The full collection is currently available online at BrooksBrothers.com.

I love it. I like when children dress like kids and not like little teenagers.

you think this is dressing like children? i tihnk they look like little adults. not sure i like all these clothes? they look like conservative adults at a country club or something….

The little guy wearing the sweater vest looks like Spencer Cassidine from General Hospital. No wonder he always dressed like that on the show. Spencer always has the Brooks Bros look.

Great-It is nice to see some class in a kids clothing line unlike the style I have witnessed on the web of the halloween outfits that Willow Smith is having supposedly designed for her—I am sure Brooks Brothers will do sensational with their new line

JM – I don’t know what mochababe73 is thinking, but I think that the clothe is cute, but not for a every day use of course. For especial occasions and things like that, obviously it’s not playground clothe!

Picked up a few pieces last week – love them! Great quality and surprisingly affordable! Not sure I like how they have put pieces together in these ads but my son has been rocking them and looks super adorable. All how you mix it up I guess :)

Really cute. Another clothing line for kids that is classy and age appropriate but also fun. Especially nice to see outfits for girls that don’t include the words diva or princess and have no tacky sparkles on them. Crew Cuts from JCrew and mini-Boden are also great lines.

Personally I LOVE them… but I have a very preppy style, but my 3.5 year old has her own style, more bohemian (if you can imagine), and I just don’t see her feeling comfortable wearing these.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed that in a few years she’ll put aside her ruffly, flowery, PINK dress penchant for sweaters, oxfords, and argyle.

I like the outfits for the boys but, not the girls. I guess because boys clothing doesn’t change all that much, I get the whole mini-adult vibe from the girls clothing. I like the navy skirt tho!

ahhh…crewcuts and mini boden…my faves :)
