Diablo Cody Welcomes Son Marcello Daniel

It’s a boy for Diablo Cody!

The Juno screenwriter and United States of Tara creator — born Brook Busey — welcomed son Marcello Daniel Maurio early Tuesday morning, July 27, she announced via Twitter.

He weighed in at 7 lbs., 2 oz. and is the first child for Cody and husband Daniel Maurio.

Cody, 32, had announced the pregnancy in April, writing, “Thanks for the congrats on my fetus.”

I just want to say that I LOVE the fact that they gave baby Marcello his dad’s name for his middle name rather than making him a Jr. That’s what my grandparents did with my dad, and what my parents did with my brother, and I think that’s a great way to incorperate your name into your child’s. That way, your child is named after you in a sense, but still has his/her own name as well.
