Ali Larter Admits Her Strongest Pregnancy Craving

For Ali Larter, being pregnant comes with a bonus: The ability to devour whatever she desires, guilt-free.

“Stop eating? I eat everything!” Larter, 34, said Saturday while promoting her new film Resident Evil: Afterlife during Comic-Con in San Diego.

“I bake myself strawberry shortcakes and then I wake up at three in the morning and I eat them.”

And don’t tell the actress to worry about Hollywood’s pressure to stay thin.

“I love it because so much of the time, I have to be careful,” Larter says.

“I work out. I play certain roles where it’s important for me to look a certain way. But now it’s just freedom. It’s like, bring on the Sprinkles cupcakes, pizza, pasta. I’m loving it!”

Larter, who was pictured in a flowing top with a suspicious bump poking through days before she announced that she and her writer-actor husband Hayes MacArthur are expecting, said she made a conscious decision early on to keep the news under wraps.

“It was a very private time for me and my husband and something that I just wasn’t ready to share, so we actually left the country for a while,” Larter explains. “So we came back from Europe, and I said to my husband, ‘I just want to go to lunch with my girlfriends. I just want to live my life.’ I was four months [pregnant] and it was just time to start living my life.”

On that note, Larter insists there’s one thing she won’t give up: Killer heels.

“You gotta do it,” she says. “I love my high heels. I’ll kick ass in four inches, pregnant any day of the week.”

I’m not usually one to comment on someone’s pregnancy weight. However, the fact that they said “The baby is due this winter” and it’s her first baby made me surprised she got such a bump this early on. Either she’s going the Hollywood route of fibbing about the date & is further along, or she probably needs to take Leah Remini’s advice about “the baby doesn’t need grilled cheese sandwiches and pint of ice cream. it’ll come back to bite you later”

I agree with Hayley! My first pregnancy I didn’t know any better so I just ate and ate and ate. I would go through a whole box of hostess cupcakes every week. I gained 40 pounds and am back to my pre-pregnancy weight now…but I am hoping to only gain 30 with the next one…definitely a lesson learned!

I’m in my 5th month and my bump is about that size. I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all. I think after not being pregnant for awhile, women forget what a normal size pregnancy belly looks like.

And, I’m sure she’s not ONLY eating junk food. She probably just pointed out those things b/c as an actress she can’t have them normally so it must be exciting to eat them now.

Ugh, I hate it when women perpetuate the “I can eat whatever I want now. I’m not fat— just pregnant!” line of thinking. Why do you think it’s strongly recommended that pregnant women do not smoke or drink alcohol? Because everything you consume goes to the baby, and if wasn’t good for you prior to becoming pregnant, then it certainly isn’t going to do you (or your baby) any favors once you are. Put your own desires aside and think of the health of your child for just one second please. And this isn’t just pertaining to Miss Larter, unfortunately I’ve known more women than I can count who have this same outlook on pregnancy.

If she’s due in Dec-which is when Winter starts she could easily be about 5 months right now. Pregnant in March-it’s almost August…that’s 5 months + the extra 4 until December.

i get so cross with people who take everythin sooooooooooooo serious, your pregnant not ill with in reason you can do every thing you did before however beibg pregnant is tough work for the most part and if a women who job is in partto look skinny wants a few extra sweets so what. you can not same drinking and smoking to eating a burger.

Besides her expectant glow, she looks great with a few extra pounds! Hollywood starlets are constantly starving themselves, she is just calorie-and-taste deprived. Let the woman eat and live like a normal person! I know for a fact that men prefer women who look like real, curvy women! Curves are feminine and beautiful.

sat, curves have nothing to do with how much you eat. You can be very skinny and be curvy. Even underweight people can have an hour glass figure.

I’m almost six months preg and due at the end of November, my bump was about that size at the beginning of the month. Remember pregnancy is 40 weeks, which adds up to more than nine calendar months.

The bumps shows up differently on different people. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was a little under weight to start, and her doctor is encouraging her to eat a bit more. The girl probably starves when she is in actress mode, give her a break and let her enjoy her pregnancy! I’m sure she has an excellent doctor and a very healthy child-to-be.
