Jimmie Johnson Welcomes Daughter Genevieve Marie

It’s a girl for four-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and his wife Chandra.

The couple welcomed daughter Genevieve Marie Johnson on Wednesday, July 7 at 1:44 p.m. in Charlotte, North Caroline, the proud new dad revealed on his Official Fan Club page.

Baby girl weighed 6 lbs., 14 oz. and measured 19.5 inches long.

After spending their first few days together as a family of three, Johnson traveled to Chicago and placed 25th in Saturday’s race.

Johnson, 34, and Chandra announced the pregnancy in January.

They said during the race that they had not decided on a name for her yet.. they called her Baby J

They didn’t name her until Sunday when she left the hospital. Or at least they didn’t announce it until Sunday. As of Friday, she still didn’t have a name.

Love it, love it, love it! Kind of a given, though; my 5 year old’s name is Genevieve Adele! We call her Gigi. It was down to Danica or Genevieve, and we only decided at all because the Social Security worker showed up a second time and wouldn’t leave (she was sweet about it)! Same thing with my younger daughter (who is Vivianne Irene after two of her grandmothers, pre- Vivienne Jolie-Pitt)–it was down to Mireille or Vivianne and we decided at the very last minute as they were outprocessing us. Different SS worker, though…

Wasn’t going for a French theme. Wanted something feminine, not in the top 200, but recognizable as a name, and those are what we liked.
