Looks like Amy Poehler’s baby-on-the-way will have a friend from the start: her former Saturday Night Live costar and pal, Rachel Dratch, is expecting her first child, PEOPLE has confirmed.

The actress, 44, is due in September but no other details — including the baby’s father — are available.

The news was first noted by New York, who observed Dratch sporting her own baby bump alongside Poehler at a June 30 movie premiere.

Dratch recently appeared on SNL with Poehler and Tina Fey, and has guest-starred in shows like Ugly Betty, Wizards of Waverly Place and 30 Rock. She’s also starred in films like I Hate Valentine’s Day and Spring Breakdown.

HOORAH! Another bright, talented, successful, funny lady who will be a great mom! LOVE that the SNL ladies are all having babies!

congrats, that is wonderful news!

You know, it was funny…during the Betty White episode when they brought back all those great SNL ladies, it was a Mother’s Day episode. All the other ladies had kids: Amy’s got the little guy and another baby on the way, Maya’s got her girls, Ana’s got a girl and a boy as does Molly, Tina’s got her hilarious little Alice…and I thought, hmm…Rachel’s hilarious, but she’s not a mom…guess I was wrong!

Congrats, Rachel!

I wonder if she got pregnant naturally or did IVF? She is 44 after all, and at that age it’s hard to conceive. Before everyone tells me it’s none of my business…I would like to know. If she did get pregnant at 44 it gives hope to other over 40 year old women to conceive naturally.

I wonder why she hasn’t revealed the father? I don’t think she even has a boyfriend/husband so maybe she used donor sperm??

Maybe seeing all her SNL alum friends with children made her want children too. :-)

Go Rachel – so excited. No matter how she did it.

I’m also one of the ones that wonders if she did IVF, IUI, donor sperm, drugs, etc. Not because I think it is any of my business (because it’s not) and not because I think she owes anyone any sort of explanation (because she doesn’t). I am just curious because I am 36, almost 37, and about to start IUI with donor sperm. Other people’s stories fascinate me…and give me hope.

I am so excited for her.

Wow, awesome for her. My aunt conceived naturally at ages 40 and 45. However it happened for her, it’s a blessing.

Good luck, Michelle.

Lara on

If you’re curious on how she conceived just ask without adding the “it’s none of my business but I’ll ask anyway” junk. If other people have a problem with you asking, screw them.
