Bridget Moynahan Says Son Is a Bookworm Already

Playing Mrs. Quimby in Ramona and Beezus was a thrill for Bridget Moynahan. Not only was the actress a fan of the Ramona Quimby series as a child, her 2½-year-old son John Edward Thomas is a fan of books in general!

“I have pictures of him looking at books and flash cards when he’s just sitting up,” Moynahan, 39, recalls. “I have one picture where I was reading a book on Buddha and Buddhism and his face is in there, looking at the words.”

Just the night before her interview with USA Today, conducted in a Barnes & Noble, Moynahan says that Jack emptied his bookshelf in anticipation of story time with mom. “We went through four books,” she notes.

“He’s known his numbers and alphabet for some time now, and it’s clearly from reading, unless he’s going to accounting school on the side,” she adds.

Hi President Obama!

Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts brought their boys — Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete, 3, and Samuel Kai, 19 months — to watch the Presidential motorcade pass along Houston Street in New York City on Wednesday.

The family hung out with their SoHo neighbors for a bit before returning home. Watts and Schreiber are back in the Big Apple after a recent trip to the West Coast.

Helena Christensen ‘Not a Strict Parent’

Dara Kushner/INF

There aren’t many rules in the home Helena Christensen shares with son Mingus, 10, and fortunately for the supermodel, there has never needed to be.

“I’m not a strict parent,” she notes in a new interview with Babble. “Mingus hasn’t challenged me in that way — he hasn’t demanded something that I would find totally ridiculous.”

Allowing her son to partake in television and video games has worked to Christensen’s advantage.

“I haven’t deprived him,” she explains, “because kids usually overdo [those things] for a bit but then they get over it because it’s not enough stimulation anyway.”

Christina Applegate Steering Clear of Pregnancy Surprises

Jason Merritt/Getty

When it comes to experiencing pregnancy for the first time, Christina Applegate is sticking to the books — and skipping any surprises!

“I’m textbook right now. I’m like everything you read in the books, I’ve got it all,” she revealed during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night.

She says her morning sickness has been “so bad” — but it’s her mental state that seems to keep the actress on her toes.

“Anyone who has been pregnant knows exactly what I’m talking about,” she jokes. “You kind of go a little cuckoo. It’s almost out of body, you’re stepping back from yourself watching this insane monster in front of you that’s you and you want to stop her, but she’s also funny to watch.”

And when it comes to playing the name game, Applegate, 38, and her fiancé Martyn Lenoble have decided to hold off until baby’s arrival.

“You have to look up more of the foreign looking names or name it Zuzu or something,” she laughs, before adding the couple are likely to steer clear of Hollywood’s exotic name trend.

Review: Sunshine Kids Radian XTSL Convertible Car Seat

Courtesy of Sunshine Kids

If you’re a parent of multiples, you know how hard it is to fit more than two carseats in the back seat of your car.

Now it’s easier thanks to Sunshine Kids — each of their convertible car seats is 17.9 inches wide, so there’s more than enough room to stack them side-by-side.

We recently tested the Radian XTSL ($299, left) with great results.

Not only is it height-adjustable, but it features an aluminum-reinforced head support and extra side impact protection.
