What a tragic story about the Chicago conjoined twins. I can’t imagine the agony that poor family is going through.

I have witnessed it many times a baby will hold on to life until they get the huge sigh and ‘ok’ from mom or dad that is ok to go. And then they pass away its usually in their parents or loved ones arms. It breaks my heart to have to watch a loved one make that kind of decision. Medically we can advise. But not make that decision. Yes a few times we have been proven wrong but most of that time we are correct. I have not had to make a life or death decision on a child but that of my mother. Since I have a medical background I thought I could take care of her, but it was not what she wanted and after opening her living will I had to oblige to her wishes. It was a tough thing for me to do. I can’t imagine being a parent and making that decision based on statistics what I am being told by professionals. I can only hope in time the mother will make a decision on what’s best for her children. I’m sure the boys are in some pain giving what has been told about their condition. They can only receive so much pain meds as they can lead to low blood pressure and a slower heart rate and not much blood circulating to the brain. It’s a vicious circle. It’s just so sad.
