Mira Sorvino on the Positive Side of City Kids

She had her doubts, but Mira Sorvino can’t imagine raising her three children anywhere but New York City.

“I worried a bit because we tend to think of New York kids growing up quickly and being super savvy, maybe not in the healthiest way,” she tells the New York Daily News.

With Mattea Angel, 5½, Johnny Christopher King, 3½, and Holden Paul Terry, 10 months, having formed “wonderful friendships” and clearly thriving in the Big Apple, Sorvino’s fears have been laid to rest.

“I’m not seeing any negativity so far. I’m actually seeing positive. They’re getting exposed to wonderful activities,” she says, adding that the family, including husband Christopher Backus, “walk everywhere.”

We spotted the Desperate Housewives star, 48, and her family out for brunch last week as well — but Cross went hands-free while Mahoney toted the girls!

Scott Stapp Won’t Gain Pregnancy Pounds

He may be in charge of wife Jaclyn‘s pregnancy requests, but Scott Stapp won’t be packing on the sympathy pounds!

“I get late night cravings of chocolate and sometimes I have a craving for cheeseburgers. It’s like, ‘Baby, I need a bowl of ice cream’ or ‘Can you run to Steak ‘n Shake for me?’” the expectant mom told PEOPLE Moms & Babies at Sunday’s Pregnancy Awareness Month kick-off event.

“He’s been so gracious to get up late at night.”

But despite indulging in her sudden cravings, Jaclyn, who’s due with a boy in July, has managed to stay in shape — and has motivated Scott to do the same.

“She’s so in shape and eats right — it keeps me in line,” laughs the singer.

Like mother, like daughter!

Maggie Gyllenhaal and 3½-year-old Ramona have the same taste in footwear — check out their matching rain boots! — while hanging out in New Orleans on Friday.

Ramona is the only child for the Crazy Heart actress, 32, and husband Peter Sarsgaard.

“We’ve traveled around a lot with Ramona and, while there are some wonderful things about that, what a young child really wants is stability and routine; she wants a sense of home,” Gyllenhaal said recently.

“We’ve been trying to protect that and it’s one of our biggest challenges.”

Is Georgina Chapman Having a Girl?

She dressed Sandra Bullock, Gabourey Sidibe and Vera Farmiga for the Oscars, but expectant designer Georgina Chapman is mum about who will wear Marchesa to Monday night’s star-studded Costume Institute Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

“It’s top secret!” she told PEOPLE Friday at the Tribeca Film Festival and Cinema Society premiere of Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston.

Luckily, the pregnant British fashion designer and wife of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was far less secretive about her baby on the way, due in August.

“We’re really excited. I’m just trying to get everything done before Fashion Week so that I’m prepared for when she comes,” Chapman, 34, said.

Asked to confirm that they’re having a girl, Chapman replied, “Well, we don’t know. I’m calling it that because I have three stepdaughters, so I’m used to [saying] that.”

Christina Aguilera may have found her littlest fan: son Max Liron!

“He does say, ‘Put in Mama’s song, put in Mama’s song.’ And then he goes, ‘Go crazy! Go crazy!’ It’s so cute,” the songstress, 29, tells Access Hollywood, adding that he is also “really into” singer Rihanna.

Having released her latest single, Not Myself Tonight, Aguilera insists she isn’t looking to conform to the traditional motherhood mold, but rather teach her son to appreciate her for who she is.

“Mama still has to be me,” she says. “I never claimed to be a cookie-cutter soccer mom. That’s all good for some people. Not for me.”

Spotted: Katherine Heigl and Naleigh – Shopgirls!

Katherine Heigl joined her mom Nancy and sister Meg for lunch at Taverna Tony, as well as shopping at Cross Creek on Friday in Malibu, Calif.

Also joining the group? Naleigh, the actress’ 17-month-old daughter with husband Josh Kelley, as well as Meg’s infant son.

“Naleigh has a real strong personality,” proud grandma Nancy recently told PEOPLE.

“She’s really a wonderful little girl. She’s very round and very adorable. She’s almost edible!”
