Christina Aguilera: Jordan Is My ‘Calm in the Storm’

Courtesy Latina

Amidst the glitz and glamour that accompanied her shot to stardom, Christina Aguilera found herself surrounded by a group of people who were focused on fame. That is, until she met her husband Jordan Bratman in 2002.

“Jordy was the calm in the storm when everybody else was driving me crazy. I had a lot of older people around me who were conniving — and these people do that so you can cling to them,” the Latina cover girl reveals.

“He was the person who reached down, pulled me out and made me see reason. I’m very lucky to have him.”

Aguilera, 29, and Bratman have since welcomed son Max Liron — and the first-time mom is making it her priority to be hands-on with her 2-year-old.

“I’m definitely that mom that crawls around on the floor and gets a little crazy,” the “Not Myself Tonight” singer laughs. “I turn into being 12-years-old again.”

Julie Bowen: Brood of Boys Is the ‘Best Adventure’

Tony DiMaio/Startraks

For Julie Bowen, raising three sons is “the best adventure” — even if she’s the sole woman at home!

“It’s all boys at my house,” the Modern Family star told Moms & Babies at the 69th Annual Peabody Awards in New York on Monday.

“It’s a lot of trucks, cars and balls. There’s no princesses or lipstick or shiny shoes. But it’s okay, I love them anyhow.”

In fact, her sons — Oliver, 3, and fraternal twins Gus and John, who just turned 1 — are so active that the twins’ first words were sports-related.

“Both of them, their first word was ‘ball.’ It was really ball!” says Bowen.

But being the only female may take some adjusting to for the actress, 41, who is the middle of three sisters.

“I grew up in a family of all girls so this is karmatic justice for torturing my father for so long,” she laughs. “Now I’m the only female in the house of four males. This is just a taste of what he had to suffer for a long time.”

Spotted: Naomi Watts’ Little Water Baby!

Ramey

Splish splash!

Naomi Watts takes a break from fancy gowns on Tuesday, opting instead for a swimsuit, casual tank and shorts while playing with son Samuel Kai, 17 months, at the Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc near Cannes, France.

Will there be any more children for the actress, 41, and fiancé Liev Schreiber? The couple are also parents to Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete, 2½.

“If I could guarantee myself a girl, I’d say yes,” she said recently.

“But I’d be sure to have another boy! I always knew I’d have boys.”

Salma Hayek Pinault: Valentina Requested Name Change

Courtesy InStyle

When Salma Hayek tied the knot with François-Henri Pinault last year, taking her husband’s surname didn’t cross her mind. That is, until the couple’s 2½-year-old daughter Valentina Paloma noticed the difference!

“It was Valentina’s request,” Hayek Pinault reveals in InStyle‘s June issue.

While visiting with the actress on a movie set, the inquisitive toddler noticed the name written on the back of her mother’s chair — and was quick to question what she saw.

“She said, ‘What does it say there?’ And I said, ‘Salma Hayek,’” Hayek Pinault recalls.

“And she said, ‘What about Pinault? Why not Pinault?’ Because here [in France] people say, ‘Madame Pinault.’”

1 Trend, 3 Ways: Cuddly Animal Blankets!

Babies love to feel comforted. But as Kai SchreiberSavannah Mahoney and Tabitha Broderick prove, a plain old security blanket just won’t do. These celeb tots would rather snuggle up with an animal blankie instead.

And we can see why. Small enough for tiny hands to tote around, they’re a fun toy and soft blanket all wrapped up in one.

Christina Milian: Violet Wakes with a Smile!

Steve Granitz/WireImage

Like many new moms, Christina Milian raves that her own daughter is “the best baby.” What makes 11-week-old Violet Madison so special? Her sunny disposition, already apparent bright and early each morning.

“She’s just always so happy the second she wakes up,” the singer and actress tells Moms & Babies. “She has a smile on her face.”

When it comes to body after baby, Milian, 28, singles out diet as the secret to her success.

“A lot of liquids, a lot of water, a lot of raw vegetables and salads,” she explains. “I stuck to that and it all came off.”

Nursing also plays a role, and Milian says that you’ll rarely catch her without a breast pump nearby.

“I always pump everywhere,” she confesses. “It’s a little embarrassing to say but it’s part of the whole thing.”
