Family Photo: Marcia Gay Harden’s Cirque Cuties

It was a family night out in New York on Wednesday for Marcia Gay Harden and her three kids!

Daughter Eulala Grace, 11 and twins Hudson and Julitta Dee, 6, joined Mom at the opening night of Cirque du Soleil’s Banana Shpeel, held at the Beacon Theatre on the Upper West Side.

Despite the age difference between her children, Harden and husband Thaddaeus Scheel make it a priority to ensure close sibling relationships, the actress says.

“I had to tell Eulala that while she might not finish her homework, she has to find an hour to spend with her brother and sister every night and have dinner with the family,” Harden, 50, explained recently.

Such a beautiful family!

WOW, those are beautiful children!! I love her philosophy on having Eulala being close to her brother and sister. My brother and I are 6 years apart (we have siblings in between, too) but we’ve always been very close. Even when I was 5 and he was 11 we had a good time together and a good bond.

Her kids are adorable!I love how Eulala and Hudson hugged each other. I love when siblings are close. I am very close to both of my sisters and they are 9 and 11 years older than me. My parents made sure my sisters spent time with me growing up despite our age difference. I couldn’t imagine not having them in my life. I really respect Marcia’s view on family and how important it is to spend time together, things such as regular dinners matter.

I like her philosophy on family too, but not her philosophy on homework . . . She has stated in interviews several times that her kids get too much homework and she doesn’t make them complete it. While I agree that schools are giving out far too much homework, teaching your kids they don’t have to finish their work is not preparing them very well for adulthood, in my opinion.
