Baby makes three!

Amy Adams and fiancé Darren Le Gallo welcomed daughter Aviana Olea Le Gallo on Saturday, May 15 in Los Angeles, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Aviana weighed in at 7 lbs.

“Mom and baby are home and doing great,” says Adams’s rep. “Everyone’s healthy and happy.”

Congrats! Beautiful name!!

- RachelfromBoston on

Yea! I’ve been waiting for this annoucement! I don’t care for the name. Too many vowels, but congratulations, none the less!!

- Lacey on

YAY!! So exciting! Love the name!

- Maddie on

- t. on

Congrats!

- Marge on

i have been waiting for this news. so glad that she had a baby. love the name aviana olea le gallo.

- glee fan on

Congrats!! I like the name. It’s unique, but beautiful at the same time :)

- Nella on

Well that name just ruined my night

- Yoko on

A beautiful name for what I’m sure is a beautiful, little girl.

Congratulations to Amy and Darren!

- Nina on

Congratulations to them! Pretty name! And what a great day to be born on – hehe it’s my mom’s birthday!

- Brooklyn on

i like aviana. seems like “ana” names are in. idk about olea. maybe it has a family significance.

- izzy on

Congrats to them! I think the name is just lovely and goes perfectly with the last name. Can’t wait to see pics, I’m sure she’s beautiful just like her mother!

BTW @ Yoko- what a stranger names their child has the power to ruin your night? Really? That’s kind of sad. :\

- Jen on

Congrats!!!! I have loved that name for quite some time!

- harley on

Olea is a family name.

- Maddie on

How do you say Aviana?

Cute name

Now when is the wedding?

- Andrea on

yay! i love her. (enchanted is one of the few kid movies i can watch through over and over again!) i know amy adams was born in italy…is aviana perhaps an italian name? (and she was also raised mormon. when i was in utah {where much of the population is mormon} i met several women named olea. granted, they were all my grandma’s friends, but maybe it’s a family name!)

- noam on

She was born in Aviano Italy? so maybe switched it up a bit and made Aviana?
x

- hannah on

I have never heard of this name. Is it one they sort of made up or does it come from somewhere else?

- romy on

Andrea, I would guess it sounds like Arianna

- romy on

@ yoko…..wow, haha your comment made me LMAO! a few simple words were more than enough to display your bitterness to the world.

- izzy on

Congrats to them! Looks like she decided against a traditional name, but it’s pretty nonetheless.

- DD on

this is one of those celebrity baby names i don’t really like, but i’m sure it’ll grow on me.
& am i the only one surprised that little aviana only weighed seven pounds? amy carried pretty big.

- A on

sounds like she has a love of all things birds….avia(nna) olea sounds like alas or volea and di gallo says it all

- gigi on

Yay I’ve been waiting for this announcement! I love the name too! Anxious to see if she inherited mom’s red hair!

- Mandy on

Awwww….a girl! Congratulations…I love her name. You will adore being mom!!

- Mom23BeautifulBoys on

My guess is that they will call her Ava…..

- Brooke on

Lovely name!!! i thought vowels were letters too!! congrats to Amy and her husband!

- Manal on

I’m positive Amy Adams gives a SHIZ if you don’t like her babys name. Grow up for crying out loud….congrats to the new family on a healthy sweet baby girl (with a lovely name)

- Melisa on

Yeesh. Can’t say I’m loving this name. It looks like they just smushed Ava and Ana together. How do you say it? Ah-vee-ahna? Av-ee-anna?

And Olea? As in the plant Genus? Nope.

- LHash on

Love the name Aviana! I hope the baby has Amy’s beautiful hair color. Congratulations

- Kimberlee Chrisman on

Melisa, no one gives as SHIZ what you have to say but you felt ok saying it anyway. It’s called freedom of expression.

Personally I am underwhelmed by the name (with all the hundreds of stunning choices out there to chose from) but it’s not weird and for a madeup name it doesn’t feel trashy. She’s a beautiful woman and I’m sure her daughter is a beauty too.

- jazzy jeff on

omg i knew it was going to be a girl! (pretty name too). can’t wait to see pics of her! congrats to amy and darren.

- maggie on

Congrats to them. I still wish people would get married first. JMO!

- DS on

congrats to them. they must be overjoyed.
don’t like the name, sounds like someone wanted to name their daughter ava and then realised it was too popular so cleverly changed it.
but i’m sure they could care less what i think about the name, and so they should. it’s their child. i’m just saying the name’s not my cup of tea.

- JM on

Congratulations to Darren and Amy! I like the name. It’s very quirky and out of the ordinary. Aviana is alright, but I really like the name Olea. Is it pronounced Oh-lay-uh or Oh-lee-uh?

- Tatyana on

Amy Adams was born in Aviano, Italy. That might have something to do with it.

The name Aviana Olea reminds me of other celebrity baby girls like Valentina Paloma, Nahla Ariela…just an overload of As. I like the sound of Aviana Le Gallo, though.

- soph on

I love the name! It just rolls of the tongue so pleasingly. Congrats to Mom and Dad!

- Cassandra on

is Olea, like oh-lee-ah? I like that name. Aviana, not so much but its definitely different and Aviana Le Gallo sounds lovely

- electra on

Aviana is new to me, but it could grow on me. Not big on Olea, though.

Still, I’m so happy for Amy and her husband. I was expecting she would have a boy. She’s going to be a gorgeous little girl, I bet – I hope she gets her mama’s beautiful hair and skin!

- Molly on

Congratulations to the growing family!

And are we really trying to revive the whole “marriage before babies” thing again? Take it to your pastor if it concerns you so much. Your “values” may not be the same as someone else’s. Besides, a marriage license and a ceremony does not a marriage make. It takes love and commitment, which I’m sure that Amy and her fiancée have for each other. Love doesn’t need a piece of paper to validate it…if you’re miserable, it doesn’t matter if you’re married or not. If you want to leave badly enough, you will find a way.

- MoltenOrange on

Interesting name…

- Tracy on

When I read the name the first time I thought of Alison Hannigan’s Satyana. Like they mixed a couple names up to get what they wanted. Melisa, none of us here think Amy is coming here and shizzing her pants over our comments. On this site it’s fun to read people’s opinions. In ‘real life’ we get reactions to our baby name choices, celebrities just obviously get more.

- romy on

I literally lol’d at Yoko’s comment. What somebody you don’t even know can ruin your name? They must be a pretty powerful family considering hundreds of thousands of babies are born every day, and surely you wouldn’t like every one of their names.

Anyway, I think it’s a cute name, not too far out there. And I really thought they would have a boy, but I was wrong! Congrats to them!

- Erika on

The name Aviana is an ode to her italian birth in Aviano. It is not an italian name though.

- Anonymous on

Maybe Aviana was conceived in Aviano

- romy on

I love it. Pretty and unique all rolled in one (well at least the way I’m pronouncing it lol).

Congrats to this family!

- Mel on

I think it’s a beautiful name that flows nicely. And she didn’t name her Ava- the same name that so many celeb babies have. Thank goodness for that (I say that only because it’s so common; Ava is still a pretty name). I like how she put a nice spin on it. Olea is different, but it flows really nicely with the rest of the name. Is it just me or does her fiancee hardly ever smile? In every pic I see he almost never smiles. Oh well. Congrats to the happy couple! :)

- Jenn on

@MoltenOrange, I agree. if I wasn’t against marriage, the people around here that push marriage down everyone’s throat would have turned me off from the idea

- Lee on

cute name. really close to my cousin’s name which is Eviana. they call her Evi which I think is adorable

- amanda on

Wow…that name is impossible to pronounce! Yikes…what were they thinking? Well, obviously all that really matters is that mom and baby are healthy, so congrats!

- christina on

Christina, they were probbaly thinking that it is a lovely name. But gotta add that little glad mom and baby line in to pretend you made a nice comment. Good grief.

- J on

When I first saw the name (which I love) I thought it was pronounced with a long A. Aaaaviana. Not like Ava. Like Achoo. Anyway, I love the name. Very pretty and not traditional at all (although I have no problem with traditional names). CONGRATS! ♥

- Crystal on

How to pronounce Aviana ?
Is it a-vi-ana?

- nicole on

christina is jealous that aviana is a prettier name than her’s

- izzy on

Well if it’s anything like the name of the Italian town, it’s Ah-vee-ah-nah. Ah is the first syllable of achoo. The stress would be on the second “ah”.

- Tiffany on

Beauiful name! And Aviana is not a made-up of name. I have heard of other little girls being named that. :) And, for the people curious about pronunciation, the only way I have ever heard it pronounced is “Ah-vee-ahna”. :)

- CelebBabyLover on

My friend has a girl named Avelina. Sounds similiar to Aviana. Don’t like the fact that I think of Avion (plane in French) when I hear it. Congrats though!!

- Ella on

I can’t stop laughing at Yoko’s comment!

Congrats to Amy and Darren!

- Sadie on

Congratulations to Amy and Darren. Unusualy name, never heard it before. Is Darren Italian/Spanish on his father’s side? That could explain where his daughter’s name came from. ;)

- robinepowell on

Congratulations to Amy and Darren. That’s a really lovely name they picked!

- Allie-Rose on

Izzy, that was pretty immature of you.

- dfs on

I just knew she was going to have a girl – that bump was sitting very high!!

- TwinMummy on

I don’t really care for the name, but I’m overjoyed at the announcement in general. I’m sure Aviana is absolutely beautiful, and that Amy and Darren will make wonderful parents :)

- Sophia on

Ella, when I see Olea I think of Olay. Avion Olay! Ugh.

- L on

Congratulations! Beautiful name!! :)

- Maranda on

you say it like … ay-vee-AHN-ah

- Justme on

Aviano is the Italian town where Amy was born, so I bet the name comes from that.

- sara on

OMG, I absolutely LOVE the name….it’s so chic & gorgeous!!!! Congrats Amy!!!

- Lola Monroe on

I laughed so hard at Yoko’s comment!
Yoko and Izzy – I laugh at your comments, but most of the people on these boards are very protective of their celebrities and they don’t like to read funny comments or snarky comments.
I know I’ll get flogged for writing this, but most of the comments are written by holier than thou housewives. Which means of course that they will all comment after me declaring they have jobs and are not simply housewives.
Regardless, I laugh at your comments, but if you continue to post “snarky” bits the “mini-van majority” will attack.
*drives off in convertible*

- Lola on

Nice name. Very musical.

- meghan on

Haha, I tried to say it loud 3 times, and I ended up saying Ariana every time! I might actually have a problem with this name, not because it’s not pretty, but because I just keep mispronouncing it :D Anyways, congratulations to the new parents.

- MiB on

I thought she would go for a traditional name?
I personally never heard of that name, but it does make me think of Ava and Ana,those are beautiful names on their own… anyway Aviana does sound very womanly and definitely original!!!

Congratulations to the family!!!!!!

- Larissa on

What a beautiful, pretty, feminine name! I love it! Is it Ah-vee-ahna or Ay-vee-anna or some combination of that? And the middle name is pronounced Oh-leah? It’s pretty whatever way its pronounced. I’m so happy for Amy and Darren! Congrats!

- Luna on

Beautiful name. Congrats!

- Shaya on

LOL…I did a google search of Aviana and the first thing that came up was Aviana Bras! A line of bras for full figured women.

Olea seems to be a name of a kind of bird.

I’m guessing this name has special meaning to them…congrats!

- Elle on

Lola- You are too funny! I seriously laughed out loud reading your comment. I never thought I would see the day but unfortunately, I think I might be giving in to buying a mini-van because trying to get the baby in/out of my car is killing my back.

Off topic- but does anyone have a car that is NOT a mini-van that they like to transport the kids in?

- Feminist mom on

Lovely name, sounds like a fine wine! Congratulations to the new mom and dad, Amy and Darren. God bless you and baby, all three!

- GeekyGrandma on

Avi-anna … I like it.

- what of it? on

Olea is a surname, my fathers side of the family are Olea. They pronounce is Oh-Lay-Uh…very latin. Im pretty sure they are pronouncing hers Oh-Lee-Uh because that sounds more feminine than Olea.

It may also be Olea which is an Old Hebrew name for Night ….so says babynology.com

http://www.babynology.com/meaning-olea-f17.html

- ericka on

Fact: No matter the name–traditional(Charlotte) or not(Aviana)—, you’ll have a few people on this site who are NOT happy, lol.

- Niko on

Great comment, Lola!

Feminist mom, I have two kids under 3 and drive a Range Rover. I love it because it doesn’t look like a typical mom car. We put in two headrest screens for the kiddies to watch their movies. We’ll see how it holds up when our third baby arrives in August.

- Angela on

my family and i went to italy two summers ago believe or not aviana is “kinda” a common name there (like megan or emma). besides just because it’s not THAT traditional, it might be in their family and we should respect that. i think it’s very lovely and 10x better than pilot inspektor

- maggie on

I love the name! We named our daughter Ave (sometimes spelled Avi and pronounced Ah-vee). It is Italian and a family name. My daughter’s name is different but people hear it once and remember it. It fits her. I think Aviana Olea is a great name – I hope they call her Avi for short.

- dellave on

Angela, thank you for the recommendation. I will look at these cars as well!

On another note, I LOVE Aviana– what a gorgeous name!

- Feminist mom on

LOVE the name Aviana!!!

- sara on

I am also giggling at the comment from YOKO. If a stranger who named their baby Aviana could ruin your nite you lead a very, very dull life. And by the way . . . YOKO . . . very original . . . were your parents fans of John Lennon???? That name might give me nightmares at nite!!

- tlm on

A lot of women here must be living under a rock. Aviana is a name that has been gaining a lot of popularity in the last few years. Its like if you don’t name your kid Ava, Ella, or Zoe, every other name is suddenly a weird name. Get cultured women, its only 2010.

- Mikaela on

My daughter’s name is Avianna. I named after Aviano Italy. My friend was stationed there and I loved how Aviano sounded and just added a ‘n’ and an ‘a’. I love my daughter’s name!!! We call her Avi, also.

- SJ on

whoa, i’m sure yoko wasn’t being literal. why bash her/him. sure s/he just meant that s/he had waited to hear the name/was following the pregnancy on cbb & was just surprised/underwhelmed by the name choice & probably expected something more typically pretty. as did i, honestly.
like with rebecca gayhart.no one expected a billie, they were expecting a charlotte or isabella.

- Tee on

I think Amy Adams is a wonderful actress… I’ve enjoyed a number of her movies.

The name is OK… but her initials would be AOL… I just keep thinking, “You’ve got mail.”

- Kat on

Good point, Kat! Would have never noticed that!
The name isn’t terrible…I’ve heard of Ariana…sort of reminds me of that.

- HeatherB on

tlm- You have no idea whether yoko is that person’s actual name. From what I can figure out, it seems that a lot of people here (myself included!) use screen names rather than their real names. :)

- CelebBabyLover on

Congrats to Amy and Darren! I have been waiting for this announcement! Amy is a brilliant actress and is now adding mother to her resume. I’m sure Aviana is a beauty just like her mom! I hope Aviana is just one of many kids to come! I am so happy for them and wish them all the best! They will be fabulous parents! Congrats again and welcome to the world Aviana Olea De Gallo!!!!<3

- Emma Grace on

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter Aviana! I wish that you could come over to my house so that I can meet you and see your daughter Aviana.

- Daniel Hughes on

So happy for you when I heard of the arrival of your daughter that she is here at last. What a beautiful name she is so very blessed to have such a talented and special mother. I love your work. I cannot wait to see if she has your gorgeous hair. God bless your family.

Suz

- suz on

Love the name!! The baby is so pretty. Congrats!

- Lana on

Too funny. And I thought that my 12yr old was the only one with this name because I made it up from the name Arianna. And we spell it the exact same way. My princesses name is Aviana Jolie. Yes, I got her middle name from Ms. Angelina. Congrats. you could not have picked a more beautiful name!
