There’s a baby on the way for Bachelorette alum Jen Schefft!

The Chicago-based Schefft, 33, and husband Joe Waterman are “so excited” to be expecting their first child in November, a source tells PEOPLE.

Schefft rose to reality TV fame after winning Andrew Firestone‘s heart on The Bachelor in 2003, then went on to star in her own season of The Bachelorette two years later.

She met Waterman, a trader, on a blind date in 2008 and the couple tied the knot last May.

“We really get each other,” she told PEOPLE after getting engaged. “I guess it’s true things move fast when you meet the right person.”

I hope she gets through the morning sickness part. That was the worst for me, 5 times over. Congrats!

Congrats to Jen and her husband!

See, this is what I don’t understand. People on the Bachelor/Bachelorette gets an actual posting while others like The Duggars and even the Real Housewives only get mentioned in the ‘Around the Web’ section.

I just don’t get it. Why are these people any more important? I don’t even know who Jen is.

Jen is married? I am so happy for her. I always hoped she would fall in love. Congratulations to them both, on expecting a child! Jen will be such a great mom.

mandy i have been wondering this for a while too. i have no idea what the policy here is with reality tv stars. so many here get their own posts, others are just footnotes and some don’t get mentioned at all. (why are the duggars mentioned but not the gosselins?)
i would really like an answer to this as it seems so random!

Mandy and JM . . . do you people live in a cave underground somewhere??? The Duggars, Gosslins and Real Housewives are mentioned every 25 seconds. Goodness, do you people never look at Around the Web or anything else??? Holy Moly!!

Mandy on

tlm,

If you would read my post again, you will see I mentioned the ‘Around the Web’ section. My whole question was why are they mentioned there but others get their own post/picture.

Maybe you should reread things before commenting on them.

I was thinking the same thing, Mandy.

I’d venture to say this women is less well-known than the Duggars or anyone on a Real Housewives series.

Doesn’t make sense.

I liked Jen–until she went kept breaking up with every guy she was dating. First, she was with Andrew Firstone, then she dated 25 guys on the bachelorette, then the guy she picked on that show didn’t work, then she dated her boss….it just went on and on. All I have to say is “Finally”!

JM on

erm tlm, are we a little tense today? no need to snap at people for asking a simple question. take a couple of deep breaths and then come back.

ANYWAY, as mandy pointed out, it is weird that some reality tv celebs here get their own post but others don’t. i wonder whether it’s to do with sponsorship?

dfs on

Actually, Rits, that makes me like her even better. She’s not afraid to be alone. How many people who marry the only boyfriend they’ve ever had actually stay with that person forever?

Rits on

dfs,

actually, I wouldn’t want to marry a person that’s been around the block that many times—it’s seems like she’s either thinking she’s too good for everyone, or likes to have her fun. Doesn’t look good, like she takes dating too seriously.

Rits on

I also wanted to add that—I do respect a person who dates only a few guys compared to a whole barrel full of them. First of all, you wouldn’t have to date that many guys to begin with if you start dating when your of marriagable age, and also when your “ready” to be married. Most people don’t do that—and that is part of the problem. People who are just “playing the field” shouldn’t be toying with people’s emotions. They should wait to date until they grow up and mature a little more–but, of course, that will never happen!

Romy on

Rits, I think that’s normal to date a lot of people for MANY, but especially for someone like her. She has so many guys knocking at her door why not look around until you find the one? She’s still at a normal age to get married and have kids.

Congratulations! You were my favorite on both the Bachelor and Bachelorette. You truly deserve great things. You have so much class.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
